After a few beatings, and becoming legally blind, he stopped telling fortunes and disappeared. He got the tattoo to cover his face and began telling fortunes as a means to support himself. He will tell you the outskirts of truth to keep his prediction reputation from drawing too much attention but still enough to bring in new customers.
