Kobayashi

Maker:
Little Rebel / Doll Family H
Head Sculpt:
Svein
Skintone:
Normal / Normal Pink
Body:
Doll Family H v3 63cm
Sex:
Male
  • Face-up artist(s):
    Myself
    Date of acquisition:
Nov 2016 (head), January 2017 (body)
    Provenance:
Head bought from a seller on Facebook, body from Alice's Collections.
    Reason for choice:
Originally I scrolled past him. But then I scrolled back up. And then I looked up pictures of other Sveins and Little Rebel's other sculpts. I realised he might be exactly what I was looking for as I was struggling to shell a Japanese character. I'm glad I decided to get him, he's so adorable.

For the body I wanted one that would not be dwarfed too much by my 65cm Impldoll Star, but wouldn't look too odd with my smaller SDs either. The DF-H body looked good and there was an offer on too.
    Best Points:
He has the best eye wells of any SD doll I own. And he's gorgeous even with a bad temporary face up.

His body stands like a rock. His poseability is excellent. And it looks pretty darn fine too.
    Worst Points:
The skintone doesn't match the body at all. It seems too yellow for a pink skin body and too pink for yellow.

I think there is a slight bit of chipping on his shoulder joint but it's still a contender for my favourite body.
  • Eyes:
    Brown glass (Wamami)
    Wig:
    Random black
    Favourite colours:
    Black/white/grey
    Fashion style(s):
So far, smart and formal. But I suspect I may end up dressing him cute.
    Key fashion accessory:
Glasses so he looks older than 12.
  • Name story:
Kobayashi means small woods. My surname is Woods. I couldn't resist.
    Character age:
    25 (before he stopped aging)
    Character gender:
    Male
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
Kobayashi is an assistant librarian, working under Mr Randall in the library between worlds. Unlike his superior he is open, friendly and approachable. He is aware of the massive responsibility of his job and so he sometimes doubts his abilities, taking any criticism to heart. But this pushes him to try harder to do his best.
His contract stipulates that his memory of his life before the library be erased. ‎He sometimes finds himself wondering what could have happened that led to him cutting all ties and abandoning the world he was born into, the life he could have had. But Randall advises him against speculating, encouraging him instead to focus on his work. Nevertheless, he can't deny his curiosity.
