Laika Arya Vargott

Head Sculpt:
DZ 44cm Girl Body (B45-004)
  • Date of acquisition:
Head arrived 6/18/2011, body arrived 10/4/2011
Bought from Mint on Card in 2011
    Reason for choice:
I bought the head because I was having a hard time saving up for a full doll and I wanted instant gratification. I initially intended to have her on an Angel of Dream 1/4 boy body but I decided to make her a girl when I saw her head in person. After saving some more and getting some cash for my birthday, I bought her body. I had been thinking of getting the single jointed body because it was cheaper, but I had the money so I bought the double jointed one, not realizing there was more than one bust size available for those bodies. I decided I preferred the smaller bust anyway and I am happy with my choice! Now I have a lovely semi-androgynous girl, who is absolutely perfect in my eyes and a perfect first doll!
    Best Points:
I love her sweet smile, and her posability is great too!
    Worst Points:
She's mellowed out a bit because I got her in WS. I don't regret it, but WS dolls do yellow faster, it seems.
  • Wig:
Short black wig that came with another doll bought secondhand, or a Leekeworld yellow wig, depending on my mood
    Favourite colours:
    Black, white, silver, yellow
    Fashion style(s):
    Casual, little witch, stylish, modern
  • Name story:
Laika was a placeholder name for a very different character I had in mind from what she actually turned out to be, but it was my favorite name and it stuck. No regrets!
    Character age:
18, but can be aged up depending on setting/plot in roleplay.
    Character gender:
    Female, possibly agender
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
Laika isn't human, but she wants to be accepted as a valid being. Her and her 'brother' Halogen were created through means that left them 'incomplete', thus their blank faces and occasional lack of affect. She can sometimes feel insecure, worrying that she will be sold off or gotten rid of some other way. This is due to my own indecision about potentially selling her before I got her to the look I wanted. Her self-worth is linked to the amount of attention she gets that treats her as a person rather than an object. Sometimes she gets depressed when left alone for a while, but like Halogen, can go dormant for long periods of time by taking refuge in her mind. Lately Laika's given up on trying to prove herself as good as a human, and has developed an intense interest in literature, due to the fact that she can do that without human interaction, which is often lacking in her situation. Now that she has the opportunity to go out more, she will still often have her nose in a book. Though she has lost the intense drive to prove herself, strangely she feels more secure as she feels she can sustain herself without human contact if needed. Actually, and possibly unfortunately, she seems to have turned towards proving she does NOT need to deal with actual humans, ever, just her books. Maybe someone can get her to come out of her shell?

((Would like to meet: online email/pen pals, because there is less face to face interaction involved, and especially those who like to talk about books; other nonhumans who feel ostracized or left out from human communities; characters from literature come to life- this one's only a dream, Laika! Books can only do so much for you!!))
