I didn't bond with her at first. After a dream where I had an amputee doll, I set about modifying the doll I felt the least close to.

- Date of acquisition:

- Volks 3rd NYC Dolpa
- Reason for choice:
- My mom wanted an FCS doll. Lilja's initial appearance was a blend of our ideas.
- Best Points:
- She feels more mine with her modifications.
- Worst Points:
- She balances horribly
Her first modifications, an prosthetic foot and hook hand, were awkward and wouldn't stay in place. After talking things over with someone at a doll meet, I bought some items at a hardware store and made a prosthetic leg. Her brace and original crutches are also homemade. In the meantime, I painted scars on her hand, wrist and knee to represent old surgeries.
I also changed her eyes to ones which look nice both in person and in photographs, and gave her a wig I got from a Volks fukubukuro.
Please check the announcement in the DOA News section. Broken links to TinyPic were noticed over the weekend, and today we confirmed they've been shutting down over the last month. Since a lot of people appear to have pictures there, be aware that Monday, 9/16/19 appears to be the last day to download your photos.Dismiss Notice
