Born of a woman taken as the spoils of war; seed of a noble, cruel and stern.

The woman fled, the man pursued... until she could run no further. Splayed upon the crossroads, she cried out to the passing Aesir. But her pleas fell on deaf ears, or were mistaken for the wind... to all but one. The Trickster stepped forward, offering his services. "I can take you to a place far beyond their reaches. But if I save you," warned he, "the child you carry is mine to take."

    She agreed.

Far off, in elven glades and peaceful vales, a son born was christened in the Trickster's honor. And all gathered said 'that was that'. Surely he would come to claim his prize, and she would never see a hair off his head again. Yet as each year passed, there was no sign of her protector. Perhaps he had forgotten their bargain?

"He never forgets," the lorekeeper insisted. "Mark my words: he will take all which bears his name."

Lokiahna is a bright boy, gifted on panflute and in herb preservation. He peddles his wares across the lands of Thala'hast, supporting himself and his mother. While his odd appearance might put off some, he rarely allows it to hinder his pursuits. Good-natured, witty, and often ready with a song, he likes to view the positive side of things. It makes the thought of being whisked away by a dangerous rogue Aesir more bearable...if only for a short while.

Recently his circle of admirers has included a peculiar man and woman. He feels oddly drawn to them. As though the story they hold might be important for him to hear.
