Hoping to make it big in the American acting circuit, Lucian Gale Hawke uprooted himself from his hometown of Oxford to move into a Greenwich Village flat despite barely being able to pay the rent. Horrified at the prospect of having to co-rent with strangers, he busies himself with job hunting, hoping to find a means to support himself (and pay the rent) in the midst of hustling from go-see to go-see. An odd chance encounter lands him a post as the personal assistant to Shinomori Jin, the infamous casino king and one of New York City's most eccentric billionaires.

Whip-smart, hyper-organised, temperamental, and insatiably curious, Lucian finds himself caught up in a midst of a brewing storm of familial woes, conflicting morals, and possibilities of an uncertain future.
