Hyacinth Zoradysis had a rough childhood. Her mother had sociality climbed her way out of working on the street and wanted more for her only girl, constantly pressuring her into marrying into a wealthy family. But her favors tended to veer away from the opposite sex. When she finally was forced into a marriage with a british duke, she lived an unhappy year of matrimony. Her husband was a belligerent and short-fused drunk.
No questions were asked when after what looked like a struggle he was dead. She was not the only one to deal with his anger.
No one is quite sure why it was that she made a brothel from the lords place of business after selling his country house but some say the maids she took in from the old lord might know.

Just months afterwards there was a suspicious package delivered to the house and Madame Arachne was caught in an explosion. She was pulled from the rubble by a young Patrick O'Landry who constructed her a set of prostetic (And rather unverving) legs. She took upon herself the Psudonim "Arachne" To erase any connections between her married life once and for all.
