Margeaux is a special character. She’s got an innocent expressionless face, wildly curly blonde hair, rosy red cheeks, a charming french accent, and a penchant for brutally slaughtering people. Outside of that fact, she's actually rather sweet, if not a bit dry.

When asked why she goes out a couple of times a week to find someone to chop to bits, she simply shrugs, and responds with something to the effect of “Why not?” The only time she elaborated more on this was when Isolde caught her stuffing human remains into the travel crates (and proceeded to threaten to throw her into Scotland Yard) and said “Well, I do try to limit it to people that are genuinely bad people. I don’t just kill indiscriminately, though I do slip up every once in a while and wind up with the blood of an innocent on my hands.”

As far as where she was before the circus, she claims that she was the ward of a prominent banker, Mr. Earnest Bishop and she resided with him in the center of London. She can recount many stories where he allowed her to indulge in her love of dismembering people while he watched. “He would sit there and just...watch as I carefully took people apart, piece by piece. He often commended me on my surgeon-like skill when it came to severing veins and muscle tissue.” Needless to say, her upbringing caused Margeaux to be extremely proud of her so-called skill.

After a while, she managed to hone the ability to get away with every murder she committed. Scotland Yard has yet to catch her or even get an idea of who the culprit of the slaughters is. She's known throughout London as "The Surgeon's Knife", as over time, her skill at dismembering people with a surgeon's precision only got better. Isolde's theory is that Margeaux has some form of OCD, in which she is incredibly particular about when she will strike, the precise nature of her work, and the impeccable cleanup job afterward.

She absolutely loathes Icarus and that loathing is returned in full. She truly believes that Icarus will be the reason she gets caught because "that little faerie prick is self-righteous to a fault." On the opposite end of the spectrum, she absolutely adores Alphonse.
