Reason for choice:

I have been searching new suitable sculpt for Mari-Mari for a long time and my friend suggested this head. I had to modify her eyes a bit but she ended up being pretty perfect for the part - Body is my grail body and it is everything I love about dolls

Mari-Mari is a Shell - a Creation created by Laeh - but unlike she was supposed to, she is not empty.

She has Seed of Self inside of her. She is not exactly like other Living beings, but she is not like other Creations either.

Laeh did not create Mari-Mari on purpose - She was discarded and laid for weeks forgotten on top of a pile of discarded doll parts. Laeh only noticed that this specific Shell was somehow special after Mari-Mari started reacting with the Seed of Self as it started to sprout inside of her and after one exceptionally bad nightmare Laeh notices strange presence from one of the dolls, picks it up and stares it in the eyes.

Without thinking, she continues on where she was left with this doll and finishes her, gently adding each detail that the doll started to resemble her beloved one. Maybe this was the suitable vessel to hold the soul of her beloved one?

The doll comes out amazing. She is everything and more than Leia ever dreamed to look like and Laeh gets distracted just enough that she makes the mistake of picturing her and Leia's wedding - and Leia's wedding dress replicates on top of the doll and just for a moment, the doll looks just like her wife and it's more than Laeh can take in. And she goes berserk, yelling the doll that she is not -her-.

After Laeh calms down, she modifies doll's appearance in to more darker colors and adjusts her facial features - to make sure for herself that the doll is -not- Leia. Not yet. Laeh gives the doll name Mari-Mari and makes it clear to the doll that while she clearly has some sort of spirit or sense of self, her body will eventually be given to Leia.

Mari-Mari hears and sees beautiful White Spirit in her mind. She is kind and warm and always ready to guide Mari-Mari and take her doubts and sadness in her. Little does Mari-Mari know, that the White Spirit she sees, is the same soul that she is supposed to hand her body over to.

Mari-Mari is quite observant and not at all dumb. She is good at reading the subtle signs of her Creator's behavior and knows when to open her mouth and when to act like empty doll.
While Mari-Mari wishes that her Creator would sometime acknowledge her own persona and maybe even return her feelings, Mari-Mari is from the beginning able to accept the fact that if giving up her own body for another soul will make her Creator happy, she will gladly do it.
