Head Sculpt:
Mariko (Festival)
Dollfie Dream Sister (III)
  • Face-up artist(s):
    Volks default
    Date of acquisition:
    Arrived Feb 27, 2020
Bought on Yahoo!Japan auction site, through proxy
    Reason for choice:
I've already owned a Mariko (Festival) in 2016, but sold her to fund another doll purchase. Regretted it soon after, and finally got a chance to buy her again in Feb 2020.

Mariko is my favourite Volks Dollfie Dream doll so far. I love her cute, worried little face.
    Best Points:
Dollfie Dreams are very well-designed dolls, with excellent engineering and posing abilities. Plus, they are huggable!
    Worst Points:
    Fear of staining.

  • Name story:
Default name from Volks - I just really like the sound of it. When I had my first Mariko in 2016, I didn't change her name either.
    Character age:
    Character gender:
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
This is what I came up with for her character back in May 2016:

Mariko certainly takes her part in the house chores seriously...
She'll be puzzled and disappointed when she's told she's not allowed out of the house! What?
Aww... Can't go out looking like that, Mariko! It's darned obvious that you're not human!
The other members of the house haven't quite figured out what she might be... A life-size, living doll? A very advanced android?
All they know is that she is sweet, personable, kind, diligent, very helpful, and too darned innocent! :\

I figured that maybe she arrived at Marion's big rooming house one day, in a big crate, like someone had ordered her (big "FRAGILE" sign on the box), but the parcel was mis-directed (or, was it?!). And so, began her "life" at Marion's, as Marion was certainly NOT going to re-direct the parcel to someone that might "use" this living "doll" for... hmm...

Mariko is quite content being a member of the household, and is usually first to volunteer for chores.
