    Reason for choice:
I had been looking for a mature tiny to be a new character in my fantasy world and when I saw this doll up for sale at an incredible price I jumped on it.
    Best Points:
Absolutely beautiful sculpt work. She has all the detail of the bigger limhwa dolls in a tiny 27cm tall package. Proportionally she resembles a classic sd more than a fashion doll which is really rare in this scale.
    Worst Points:
The Toyou line uses an 'old' style of bjd body meaning all single joints which limits her poseability. Wireing the arms and legs really helps as does sueding although the latter can be difficult because she is so tiny.

The real struggle with her is finding all the regular stuff that you need for a bjd. She needs tiny 6mm eyes and a 3-4 size wig both of which are hard to come by and she is proportioned differently than most dolls in this scale. Most 1/6 scale fashion doll clothes from Western lines do not fit at all so you must stick to Momoko, Blythe and pullip clothes. Her feet are larger than most fashion dolls and are flat making shoes very hard to find.
Despite how hard it is to dress her she is one of my absolute favorite dolls. I'd recommend limhwa's littlest ladies to anyone who wants a gorgeous mature tiny and doesn't mind a shopping challenge to find her a wardrobe.
  • Eyes:
    Dreamingtreestudio 6mm AD color Oceana
    Wig:
3-4 monique gold bubbles cut in autumn
    Favourite colours:
brown, green, tan with a dash of Robins egg blue
    Fashion style(s):
Mori style with lots knitted garments
    Key fashion accessory:
Always has a bag or basket for interesting fabric scraps
I'm hoping to build her up a nice wardrobe of mori style dresses and forresty boots if I can ever find them in her size. Her wardrobe is a major work in progress.
  • Name story:
Mariposa's name comes from both the mariposa lily and as a lengthening of her sculpt name Mari. It seemed a proper name for an almost fairy.

    19
    Character gender:
    Female
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
Mariposa is from my yet to be named fantasy world. She shares this world with another doll of mine Volinwei.

Fairies in this world are magical, ethereal beings capable of dissappearing at will and performing great feats of magic and illusion. Mariposa is one of the Fae Folk, which in this world is a blanket term used to describe anyone with mixed magical creature and human parentage. She has fairy ancestry quite evident in her diminutive size (she is 12.5 inches tall) and her dragonfly esque wings.

She posses no magic outside of her ability to fly and ages at a near human rate. Maximum lifespans in her family tends to be about one hundred years with some living less and others a year or two more.

Mariposa loves to sew and left her little farming community of fairy descended Fae Folk in the hopes of starting her own dress makers shop in the heavily populated city of Amur. While she was able to secure a tiny one room window shop in the city with her savings she soon faced monetary problems when the cities Fae Folk population proved to have few people her size and even fewer looking for a new clothier.

Desperate, she took as many jobs making alterations and repairs to big peoples clothing as she could but she still faced loosing her shop. Sheer happenstance turned Mariposa's luck around as a passing Elven noble woman and her young daughter caught sight of one of her dresses in the shops window and mistook it for a dolls dress. So, enchanted by its tiny detail and stylish form, the noble woman's daughter begged her mother for it and Mariposa was quite suddenly stricken with a plan.

Turning her attention to making soft cloth dolls and be-decking them in minuture but immaculatley detailed dresses she was able to make the money needed to keep her shop a float in Amur, much to her (and the local childrens) delight!
