Mercury is not a name so much as a title, the Messenger of God, passed from one divine entity to the next. The current Mercury is as soft, gentle and innocent as a cloud. Alongside his duties as a messenger, he acts as a kind of shepherd to the souls in Hades, guiding them and bringing them back to the fold when they stray.
Mercury is a child in both heart and body, and like a child believes with perfect sincerity in what is good and can never be tempted from the way of the angels. Though Lucé does his damnedest to try.
