In his younger years, Miki get hurt from his former best friend (and his secret love) very bad.
His scar on the chest was because this friend make out the fact that he only like the male gender.
The stupid boy hates homosexuals much and deeply (because of this Miki’s love was are kept secret) and after he know that Miki loves him, he freaked out and just want to hurt him.. or to be true, he want to kill him.

The knife his former friend use doesn’t kill him.
But the tool makes him afraid of other people, gives him a stigma on the chest and he lose his eyesight on one eye in an accident.

At work he use a artificial eye who looks natural.
But private Miki chose not natural ones purposely.
He thinks, that this keeps people at distance.
And his character is a little bit extravagant.

In the end all this makes him interesting.
Miki found new friends behind his mask that (step by step) he can touch without gloves.
And as he feel in love with Shoichi, he found love without hate and a painful feeling in his heart.
