(Story: Eddion) Nevae is one of four main characters in a fantasy story I have set in a world called Eddion. It's meant to be set in a late Iron Age period, not Medieval.
The others are Chioma, Moira and Arkady.

Nevae's aesthetic is based on some of the cultures of northern lands, Greenlanders, Siberians, the Suomi and Indigenous Canadians, and ancient Slavic peoples, to name a few. She'll have a sheepskin coat with embroidery, and under it a pair of sleeves, and a homespun embroidered vest. Her hair is tied back in a chignon, bound with a woven band with silver temple ornaments.

Nevae is a Chanter of the Finnian people, wandering the world as peddlers and charcoal burners, in small ragged bands. They had to leave their homeland as it was ravaged by war, and they cannot yet return. Nevae dreams of finding a way to restore them to their home. She has a great skill at playing her harp, and has learned many of the old songs of power that her people use to work their magics. Somewhere there's a young man called Toban who she's promised to in an arranged marriage, and she seems content to honor the arrangement- but not yet.
