Very selfish and rather ignorant of the feelings of others. It's his way or no way at all.

Phoenix is a nephilim demon; meaning he has been revived from an earlier life. Only, the revival went amiss, and he ended up with pieces of the souls of two different people, somewhat symbolised by his heterochromia (mismatched eyes). As the souls were from a young girl and an adult man, he ended up stuck in a teen body with no knowing whether he's "actually" a girl or a boy. He doesn't identify as neither, and doesn't really care what pronouns people use about him.

He's deeply attached to his creators, and work for James Starr, the leader of an organization in the fight against the Witchhunters; the fight for the survival of the supernatural world.
