I wanted to pick a flower that represented parts of her personality, i found that the poppy was a sign of hope, and i thought that it fit perfectly for how she impacts others in her life, especially her girlfriend.

Poppy was born into a realm of magic and elves and faries and much more. But she was born deaf. The elves dont take kindly to “deformities” as they would call it. Poppy knew that being deaf didnt make her stupid, or less of an elf... but the elves in her village did not hold her sentiment. They refused to come up with a way to communicate with her as they assumed she was too stupid to do so, and really, they couldnt be bothered to find out otherwise. Alone and cast out by her family for being “defective” as they put it, she often spent much of her time alone in the nearby forest. One day, she found a most remarkable tree with a large hole in the trunk. On impulse, she reached into it and was suddenly sucked in and spat out in a very different place. The human realm. When Poppy found herself transported to the human realm, she went in search of a fellow elf like her, she came upon a human household that she found was home to a small elf named Shi! Poppy decided to make her home there with Shi and the humans, and soon fell in love with Shi, and now spends her days running around the humans backyard with Shi, and welcoming new magical friends into the home whenever they arrive! Shi even made it a priority to learn american sign language with poppy (with help from their human friend [me]who is studying ASL) and they work together to teach it to every new magical being that comes through the house they live in, which has been lovingly named the “Red House”. Shi was the first person to ever give her the time of day or even attempt to communicate with her. And she loves her to the moon and back for it. Poppy loves to sew, paint, and play with dolls!
