Backstory


Prea has always wanted to stretch herself beyond her comfort zone, to undertake ambitious endeavors, and to surpass her own capabilities.


At twilight time, as the light waned and the green forest turned blue, Prea was walking in the woods when she came upon Echo—an alicorn centaur, the last of a long-dead community of such creatures. She was immediately struck by Echo’s beauty and grace and kept to the shadows as she watched Echo in a clearing.

Prea was seized by a strong desire to harness Echo’s alicorn magic. She approached Echo gently but still startled her. After the two talked for a short while, Echo became a little less wary of Prea, who promised to never discuss Echo’s presence with anyone.

Over time, Prea earned Echo’s trust and told her that she wanted to harness her alicorn magic. But Echo had been burned by the magic and warned Prea against such a risky pursuit. Undeterred, Prea consulted with magical aid and healer Jasphene, who helped her form a plan to harness Echo’s magic without Echo’s consent.

With Jasphene’s help, Prea was successful at harnessing the alicorn magic and could use it at will to change from human to alicorn and back again. Echo felt betrayed by Prea’s decision to pursue the magic in secret. She also resented Prea’s ability to retain her human form; whereas Echo was always an alicorn and was always hidden away because she was different.

Prea respects and understands Echo’s feelings but does not apologize for or regret her actions. In her alicorn form, she is strong, dynamic, and expressive, and she will not let anything stop her from being the most powerful and best version of herself.
