Rhys has four siblings, Jace, Rilei, Chance "Jinx", and Mariana. Rhys' parents signed them and their siblings up for experimentation when they were quite young, which eventually lead to Rhys developing depression (*Not added for edgyness. Rhys reflects a part of me. Their depression and scars, that is.) Rilei escaped, leaving her siblings behind, causing Rhys to feel completely isolated and develop trust issues. Rhys was forcibly tattooed, on their inner thighs, by the company that preformed illegal experiments on their siblings and themself.
