    His name is based off an OC. His real name is Kirus. In my story, demon names usually include a "K". His primary alias in the human realm takes the first three letters of his name and reverses them (Rik).

    Kirus reigned as the king of the demon realm for over a millennium. After many tiresome years, he abdicates the throne and is succeeded by his twin sister. In order to relieve his boredom, he decides to mingle with humans. He takes on an alias and begins to live dual lives. As "Rik", he poses as a human and integrates into their society. However, he does not cease his demon activities and continues to support his kin from the sidelines. Kirus also unfailingly manages to cause trouble and headaches for the military (which is charged with the eradication of demons).

    Sometime later during a turf war involving several groups of demons, the military decides to intervene, wanting to exterminate the remaining faction weakened in battle. The operation ends catastrophically as the entire force is wiped out. One soldier narrowly escapes death when she crosses the path of the former demon king (his true identity unbeknownst to her).

    The two have many more run-ins over the next few years due to military campaigns. They continuously play a game of cat-and-mouse until eventually opting to settle their differences outside of their respective duties. As Kirus gets to know Emelia, he finally discovers what he has been missing during all those years...

    Extra fact: he has a VERY unhealthy liking for all things sweet (even by demon standards)...
