Provenance:

The Tender Yen was purchased directly from Dream of Doll. The Bluefairy body was purchased via Den of Angels user ichigo-pan43. I don't believe the body had a COA since it was only a body, but the seller has stellar feedback, and the body looks and feels like a high quality cast.

Reason for choice:

I was torn between Luts Delf Chiwoo, and Dream of Doll Tender Yen, but I didn't understand that there was a significant size difference until I got close to ordering and I determined that I couldn't handle an SD scaled doll, as it seemed like too much doll for me. This was my very first doll and I assumed it would be my only.

Best Points:

The head has aged to a mellow ivory white, since old Dream of Doll pinky white was so pale, and makes for a pretty good match for the much newer White Skin Bluefairy Tinyfairy body. The body poses beautifully.

Worst Points:

The Tinyfairy body is slimmer than I thought it was, which means I have to sew an entirely new wardrobe for Ro, after having him for 10 years, because all of his old clothes are just enough too big.

Ro has gone through three bodies in total. Initially he came on the Dream of Doll body which had incredibly limited posing, but had it's charm. I sold that body and put him on a Dollmore boy body for better posability but it made him too tall and slim for the character. Finally I settled on wanting a Bluefairy Tinyfairy body for him, and figured that white skin would be the best match since Bluefairy has such a dark and very pink normal skin.
I'm confident this is Ro's final form. I'm done messing about with him in that regard and now I will focus on reacquiring or making for myself the particulars of his wardrobe that are important.

Ro was meant to be a self doll, and I gave him the name I was planning to change mine to.

Ro grew up Texas. When he was thirteen he met a boy who was a bit younger, that went by “Elli”. Elli was a runaway and needed somewhere to stay. He didn’t want to talk about who he was or where he came from. Ro convinced his parents to foster Elli, since at the time the boy was about ten, and after about six months everything was official and Elli was Ro’s foster brother. Elli has some bad habits that seem to point to abuse, prior to his living with the Wolfe’s. Ro has been like an older brother to him, and Elli has been a bit of a bad influence but nothing too extreme. Mostly it was swearing, and underage drinking which Ro got his fill of pretty quickly and stopped.

Over the years they have grown to be close, and Elli eventually tells Ro what his real name is, and where he ran from, and why. Ro becomes very protective of him, which pushes Elli away, and Elli starts leaving for days at a time, coming back irregularly, generally piss drunk and angry. During these moments he is volatile and Ro tends to lock him into his bedroom to sober up. Elli usually is sulky but apologetic the next day, and will stick around a few weeks before repeating the pattern.

Ro turns to his friends for help and decides that while he will always be there for Elli, there isn’t much that he can do. At this point Ro is nearly a legal adult, and looking at different colleges. He decides to take a couple of years off after high school for time to think about what he wants to do, and takes a part time job in a large retail chain for something to do, and a little bit of spending money.

Ro is emotionally stunted for reasons unknown, and seems content with semi-adulthood, living with his parents and working. Ro is pansexual, and polyamorous. He isn’t currently dating anyone but is hoping to meet the right person or people through luck. He mostly keeps to himself, goes to work, is friendly with his co-workers and customers, and goes home where he spends all his off time online talking to people he meets through gaming sites or forums.

He looks forward to the times that Elli is around, but after Elli turned 16 he started coming and going for longer periods of time. When he is around Ro focuses on him, and when he is gone, he tries to focus on other things, which is a challenge and probably when Ro is still single. He values his family, faulty as it may be, and hopes someday, that Elli will trust him enough, will trust anyone enough, to stop running.
