Shandel Renchall was originally a noble, born over 5000 years ago in Ancient Egypt. (Her name then was Nerferina) She was the daughter to a wealthy merchant. One night, her brother, Joby (then named Neferahmose), had offended Anubis. Anubis cursed him to live with a beast within him that he cannot control. By day one way, by the light of the full moon, another. Shandel stepped in to try to reason with the angered God, and was punished. She was transformed into a Hunter of the Cursed. A Werewolf Hunter who also could not die until the day her brother was wiped from existence. Shandel eventually tires of her immortal existence, and gives in and begins to hunt Joby. After centuries of hunting, when she finally corners him and has him beaten down and virtually defeated, she couldn't destroy him. Instead, she decides to accept her immortal existence, and declvote her endless time and skills to hunting other Hunters. To kill them before they can be allowed to kill her Brother.
