Reason for choice:

I wanted my second doll to be a fantasy doll, and was set on a SOOM Beyla. But in fall 2011, SOOM did their first Super Gem free choice, and I decided to buy a Heliot instead. No regrets. ;D

Best Points:

The fantasy parts, ears, and face sculpt are all just so gorgeous, and his resin is nice and heavy and well coated.

Worst Points:

Poseability is very limited, as any Super Gem owner will tell you. Even after sueding and restringing, he can stand easily but can't do much else.

Name story:

His character is associated with the sky, and his eyes have these yellow-white striations around the pupil that reminded me of the sun's rays. Sol seemed like the right fit for him.

Sol is the god-like Keeper of the Sky Below in a land generally known as Terra Vera. He lives on a floating island in a white palace, and spends his days flying through the clouds and visiting Veraeterna, the territory of fertile forests and meadows on the opposite surface of the land where a race of lesser beings lives. He is tall, even for a Keeper, standing at about 10 ft., but is lean for his height. He has two children with a mortal mother; Ophelia, who is about 14 and will inherit is lands, and Toby, who is 7. Keepers are only supposed to have one child of pure blood per generation, but since Sol's line has presided over the other Keepers since his mother was young, most have looked the other way.
Sol is a stoic leader, but can become heated on subjects he is passionate about, including justice, order, and the well-being of his children, fellow Keepers, and subjects. His ability to council and gently command the other Keepers, coupled with his demonstration of strength against rebellion, have earned him great respect.
