Dorrian exile, cartographer, geomancer and Professor of Natural Philosophy at the Royal Arcanum, Solomon Silverbirch is the resin avatar of one of my oldest tabletop RPG characters; a restless bundle of academic misadventure who's been with me in one form or another since 1985.

So, what's the difference between an original first or second release regular Adel and the "Mystic" Adel from 2007, aside from the costume and slightly more dramatic face-up?

The Mystic was apparently a resculpt of the original Adel. They're very, very similar and it's hard to tell the two faces apart unless you have them standing side-by-side... But when you do, the somewhat narrower shape of the head, slightly thinner nose and lips and the differences in the Mystic's jawline are a little easier to see.


(Solomon is an original Adel from 2006. Kage, his dark-haired friend, is a Mystic Adel from 2007.)

The easiest way to tell them apart, though, is all about their ears.


The Mystic's are quite a bit longer and more pointed than the original's, which are more rounded and tip downward. (I've only added a picture of their left ears here, but the differences apply to both sides-)
