- Face-up artist(s):
- Date of acquisition:
- 23 February 2017
- Direct from MDR
- Reason for choice:
- I have admired MDR's dolls for a while now and especially the cookie skintone. Then I figured out that the Ophelia sculpt would work well for a character I created whom I originally intended to shell as a Supia Lina. So it was the perfect combo of finding a doll that fit my character AND a doll I'd always wanted regardless.
- Best Points:
- -Elbow joints are AMAZING, I love how they pose and look.
-Joints in general: when you pose her she just feels very solid, easy to pose yet there is a lot of friction in the joints so she doesn't feel "loose"... IDK if I'm getting across what I want to get across, but basically, I feel she's engineered very well haha. She also stands quite well (probably due to her adorable thick legs)
-Resin: MDR offers such gorgeous skintones, and cookie is no exception. It really does remind me of a cookie, it's very warm and like a light golden brown. She doesn't seem to have noticeable seamlines either O~O which is pretty great for a tan doll. And one last resin comment, the resin feels quite thick and sturdy which makes me happy. (I'm a big Volks fan, what can I say...)
-Face and body aesthetics: everything about her is just beautifully sculpted. I also love her unique face, MDR has such lovely face sculpts with diverse features, rather than the standard big eyes and small pointy noses (which I don't dislike; again... BIG Volks fan... but I like to have a diverse collection!)
- Worst Points:
- There's not much to dislike, but if I had to nitpick... the knee joints can be a bit hard to bend fully. However, once you do get them all the way bent they lock into place and stay really sturdy, which is nice. So I don't dislike them but I would say they are difficult in a way.
