Lots of reasons: wanted the sculpt in light brown, wanted to take advantage of Iple's one and only offer of layaways in Doll Choice, and because it was Christmas!

Name story:

Syrena is a Greek name (her family is Greek) that has nothing to do with serenity, and everything to do with being a siren. It suited her perfectly.
