Reason for choice:

I initially fell in love with the Dia sculpt because it looks exactly how I've always pictured one of my favorite OCs from an old RP, Maverick (who's BJD form ofc is also a Dia).
Over time, it grew on me so much that I bought another (Taiga).
... And a Sard.

Definition of TAIGA
: a moist subarctic forest dominated by conifers (as spruce and fir) that begins where the tundra ends.

But srsly, his mom (who's Russian; Taiga is among other things a Russian girls name) picked it expecting to have a daughter. She kinda just .. stuck with it when she got a boy because #whynotright ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Life: Born and raised in Falun, central Sweden, Taiga lived there for 19 years before leaving the country for further education, his gaming career and other personal reasons - namely getting as far away from his former best friend as possible.
He moves to the States to go to school in New York; and moves in with a fellow classmate (my boy Estek) in Green Point, which becomes and stays his second home throughout school and beyond, always returning to the apartment - and to Esa, with whom he builds a strong friendship - sooner or later. They initially bond over their shared enthusiasm for gaming and at one point even own a YT channel together, which starts out as fun but turns into a permanent second job and source of income for both of them.
Ty's trademark is being notoriously unimpressed by any horror Let's Plays their audience pushes them to do, while Esa is typically close to tears next to him.

He grew up rather privileged and is grateful for it, but doesn't need a lot of luxury to be happy. In fact, some of his happiest moments were spent helping out in Estek's grandparent's tiny grocery store, playing with the shop cats during work break, eating ramen every night because they couldn't afford anything else, and discussing art with his friend in their messy little shoebox of an apartment on top of the store. The only things he gladly throws all his extra money at now are his gaming set up, his motorbike and clothes.

Taiga tends to be quiet and seemingly arrogant a lot of the time, because he is shy and simply not good with words (he was a mute for 2 years in high school due to tremendous insecurity over a speech impediment), when actually, his mind is very involved in everything and everyone around him. Being misunderstood in that regard definitely nags at him.
