Tomi is a fox, or kitsune. She is very curious about the world of humans, so she often transforms into a beautiful young woman to learn about their lives. She smokes too much, and drinks too much, and is incredibly vain. She is not a good person, nor is she necessarily a bad person. She is motivated by self interest, or more often by self amusement. She has hundreds of stories about all the men she has tricked, but there is only one story in which a man tricked her.

Her best friend is Saburo, a Tanuki. He found her in her fox form, drunk, and passed out in the middle of a side street in Tokyo. He is the only other person in her life that she has been able to share the secret of her true self with, even if it was by accident.
