Reason for choice:

I had been looking for a vampire-like doll, and had been eyeing Ringdoll because I like their aesthetics, so when they released Ashford EVO I jumped at the chance!

Best Points:

The face. Both the face-up and sculpt are stunning, and create such a defined personality! I also really like the muscle sculpting on his torso.

Worst Points:

The legs, by far. He cannot sit with his upper legs close together and the knees are pretty clunky. Although the permanent manspread suits his character, I like my dolls to have some decency haha

Eyes:

Gray glass eyes with a small iris.

Wig:

A wavy, burgundy-colored furwig.

Blacks and reds.

Valerian's fashion is inspired by Visual kei, albeit in a bit more casual fashion. He wears a lot of semi-sheer fabrics and leather accessories, often layered on top of eachother. Val stands out a bit from the rest of my collection, as most of my other dolls are quite modestly dressed, but he's proven to be very fun to plan outfits for!

I want to get him a pair of horns and a tail like he has on the concept art I drew when developing his character, so those will hopefully be shown on his pictures in the future!

Valerian is the name of a sleep-promoting plant, which suits an incubus.

This doll was originally meant to be Lucian, a vampire character, but that didn't work out. I ended up making a new character for the doll specifically, which is detailed below.

Valerian ('Val' for short) is a modern day incubus. He is able to feed on the energy naturally spread into the air by people when they move, which he finds by heading into the dance clubs of his home city. Because of this, he has a nocturnal sleep cycle, and often spends the day sleeping and lounging around the house.

Val is excitable, easily entertained and very sociable. He enjoys playing simple games with people to pass the time when not asleep or lounging. His seemingly seductive demeanor was adopted as a way to fit in with the clubgoers and more easily gain access to the energy to sustain himself. He's actually not very socially-, or booksmart, and is quite naive about the intentions of others or how his actions affect people around him.
