Name story:

The space geek that I am, I wanted to have a doll with astronomy inspired name. She is named after Vera Rubin, an astronomer who was the first to discover evidence of the existence of dark matter. The strong name combined with something mysterious (dark matter) was what I was drawn to in the name!
