The Infiniti UID body is so nice! Her face is pretty generic, so she was chosen mostly for her body.

Name story:

"Hotaru" was chosen because, at the time of the character's creation, I was really in to the .hack// franchise. Her real name was chosen later, when I fleshed out her character more fully.

Yun was born into a very isolated tribe of shapeshifting foragers. Her mixed heritage - being half human - should have resulted in execution upon being outed to the others, but her childhood friend begged for her life. Instead of death, she was exiled. She found refuge working as a nanny to a child prince at some clandestine palace. This prince was, unsurprisingly, a spoiled brat who believed he was above the world - including Yun. He renamed her Hotaru; she did not bother objecting. Despite the selfishness that comes from being royalty, she grew to like the boy, and he grew to somewhat respect her. Even as he matured into an adult while she remained trapped in her body (the ability to change her appearance had long since faded due to her half-heritage), he regarded her as a parent figure and she indeed helped shape him into a better person. Despite living comfortably in the palace, she has plenty of free time (that is, when she's not nagging the other servants about their duties) which is often spent brooding about her life.
