1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

60cm Obitsu male body... Truth or Urban Legend?

Jan 28, 2007

    1. the closest thing I found to a large male body obitsu was the 55cm(trying to remember) boy , no adult male ones that I could see. I would love to have a have a male one thou, it would be nice to attach my male head on to it so he could be with his girl instead of floating around.

    2. I believe you could put the long Obitsu legs on the 55cm body and have a tall boy. In the comparison pictures the torsos and arms of the 60cm and 55cm's are the same length.

    3. Did anyone post pictures of the 55cm Obitsu? I can't seem to find any.

    4. I meant to but got sidetracked. I'll get some shots soon.

    5. Cool, :) Thanks

    6. Hi there!

I'm somewhat new to BJDs, but I've been a lot of them and I really want one of my own now. But then there's the money issue. I'm a Junior in high school, I don't have a job, and my parents think that I'm crazy for wanting a hunk of really expensive plastic. So I've been looking around on eBay and doll sites to try to find a cute middle-sized boy that won't cost me all four limbs. Earlier today I found this guy and he's probably one of the best deals I've seen in a while. Though.. I'm not totally sure I'd be getting somthing quality. In the very small pictures they have posted the head dosen't have eye holes. If I bought this doll would his head come that way, or were they just using that for the picture. If it DOES come that way, is there a way to make eye holes without destroying the head? Also, like I said before, I'm sort of a newb to BJDs, and I know they're usually made from resin, but is that the same as the PVC it says the doll is made from? If it's not, is it worse than resin?

I'm sorry about all the questions, but I really do want to know if I'd be getting somthing I'll really like, or if I'm just going to waste my money on it and feel awful afterwards. :/
If anyone can help be out, I'd really appreciate it. :sweat

    7. It's not possible to know what someone else is going to like! Have a look at some of the other obitsu threads and you'll see the pros and cons. I have both obitsue and resin dolls and basically they are just very different, but I like both.
The doll you're looking at on ebay comes with the head with blank eyes, if you have a look on http://www.junkyspot.com you can see a larger picture and they also sell the open eye heads separately.
Everyone will tell you to keep looking about the forum and doll sites to find something that you really like, rather than just rushing in to buy just anything. All dolls have theire fans, and you will just have to work out where you tastes lie. Don't forget that some sites have incredible photography and the dolls may look different in person, especially if you don't buy the faceup painting!
Keep posting and make it to the marketplace to see the secondary market. Have a good look at various galleries. It's all great fun!!!!

    8. I agree with kez. Look up Obitsu in the search function and visit the junkyspot forum, it's mostly about Obitsu's
      http://www.junkyspot.com/OBITSU/forums/index.php?act=idx
Parabox gives a tutorial on cutting open the eyes on a head like the default 55cm Obitsu head
      http://www.parabox.jp/eng/custom/custom1.html
or you can buy a different head with eyes that are already opened from junkyspot.
I can tell you that Obitsus _are_ quality dolls. They are made from vinyl , so they are lighter in weight than resin dolls ( a plus in my book) and they are killer posers. If you like the look of this doll and are still attracted to it after some research, my opinion is that you will have just as good a chance of bonding with it as with a resin doll.
Good luck in your search! Finding a good dolly match for one's self can be half the fun.
BTW, my daughters are not yet in highschool and they have saved up enough money to buy 2 BJD's each. They asked for cash for birthday/ holiday presents and didn't spend a penny of their allowance for 6 months - it can be done. Try looking for the how to save up enough money threads. It can be amazing how much money can trickle through one's fingers on small items.
