1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A dolly world of their own?

Mar 5, 2013

    1. Do your dolls have a world of their own?
Yes; each group has their own world largely distinct from the others (technically there's a couple of groups that "share" in some way or another, but still distinct from the others).

Is it like a miniature version of the human world or is it a whole different theme?
It varies a bit; one set is a fairly normal (early 20th-century-ish) human world, the other is a mix of classic high fantasy and modern urban fantasy.
Do they have fantasy characters in your world?
Yes, moreso in one than the other. The fantasy-mix world has elves, anthros, and other creatures in it; the other one is more toward humans, but there's magic (and a ghost character).
      Do they wear different clothing?
Yep! With the fantasy world, the characters in the high-fantasy part of it do wear very high-fantasy styled clothing (or will as I get more of that made); the ones in the urban fantasy side have distinctly different enough anatomy from normal humans that they require different clothing to compensate. In the other world, a few of the characters have pretty distinctive styles from what would be considered "normal."

    2. Do your dolls have a world of their own?
Sort of. I guess you could call it an alternate version of this universe. They all live in Canada in present day.

Is it like a miniature version of the human world or is it a whole different theme?
No, it's a life-sized version of this universe, as my doll characters are humans and humanoids. It's a version of reality where there is intelligent life on other planets and those intelligent alien life forms know where Earth is. The premise of my story is that all my characters live together in a boarding house arrangement. The house is more or less a sanctuary for wayward travellers, which also includes people from other planets.

Do they have fantasy characters in your world?
I'd say they're more like science-fiction characters, but yes. In my dolls' world, aliens exist and a few of them are even living on Earth.

      Do they wear different clothing?
No, they all wear more or less regular modern-day clothing.
