1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A place to keep your dolls......?

Mar 26, 2010

    1. I used to keep mine in the living room, atop the hutch on the computer desk - then my daughter rescued a _bunch_ of cats....

After I found SD16 "Olivia" Phoenix on the floor, and cat pee _everywhere_, I moved the dolls to my room, where they own about 6-8 square feet of the floor space. Chairs, chaises, coffee and dressing-tables . . . these guys can take a bit of space!

They do make me smile, though. (^_^)

      ~Bruce

P.S. - Sugarlat - it would be funny if he doesn't land on your head! These guys are pretty heavy, and not soft.

    2. I actually got a little thing form my boyfriend's mom. It's a little mini spiral staircase thing meant for shoes, but my dollies sit on each step Heehee...plus dollie chairs, currently Autumn (B&G Lyall) is sitting on a pillowed arm chair on my TV, boyfriend says its creepy....hehe

    3. I keep Chii-chan in her own special shelf of the bookcase. All her colouring pencils and little props are there too on her table.

    4. Over my computer on the top shelf of my IKEA office desk. 5 can fit there comfortably. They are looking at me now :aeyepop:

    5. Right now since we've got no space, my dollies sleep inside their boxes! :(
But I promised them that as soon as we move to a bigger place, they'll be getting their own room for them to play in! :kitty2

    6. Okay, so I'm resurrecting a really old thread because I want to see how everyone stores/displays their dolls! I'm sure that even people who posted in this thread already have had some changes to their displays, so let's see them. Annie is my only BJD right now, and she pretty much just follows me around and sits close to where I am, so there's no specific display for her yet. But I'm worried to death about where I'm going to keep my Weylin when he arrives, lol. I have a dollhouse, but it's too small for anyone bigger than an MSD, so that's out.

      Share some new display spam!

    7. I'm storing my doll (only have one so far) in her box on a shelf, but I am looking for a solution.
Perhaps I'll buy a glass cabinet where I can store her stuff underneath and have her on display. But I am moving out soon and I share a story with my sister, so I want our dolls to be displayed together.
      Sigh... it's not easy.

I love to see pictures of ther peoples solutions! Please post more...?

    8. I keep my girls on a small side table I brought to my room, they are nicely on my reach, and also out of suns reach at all times.

    9. on the pile of clothing and stuffed toys lying on the floor in my closet

at least they are protected from the sun 8D (and it's the only place in my whole house where cats can't go...and knock them down <.< )

    10. For now, I plan to keep my first doll in his box. I live with family members that are not very clean :/ not only that, but they tease me enough about my wanting to get a doll in the first place, so I can imagine if they see him, they will mess with him and tease me more...

Once I move out, which should be soon, I'll have my own room, and I'll be able to find a nice little nook to keep him in.

    11. They've been in their boxes lately since I've been traveling back and fourth between college and my parents. I have an adjustable bookshelf I keep them on, and sometimes I pose them on my floor by my bed so if I wake up they're at eye level ^^

    12. I've bought a bookcase specially for my dolls (there was some spare place in my room - just for this)
      I hope they are happy

    13. Currently my dolls sit in a lounge chair saved from goodwill that sits on the side of my desk right next to where I sleep. My dorm windows do not face the sun and my blinds are always closed tight so they are relatively safe. Next year, when I get my apartment, things will be a bit better for them. I a, going to talk to my dad and my step dad and see if they can make ke a bookcase with one special part on the top level made into a nice cube for my dolls. I hope if I ask them nicely and pay them theycan do this for me. I will then place the bookshelf against the wall that has the window on it to block most of the light. I would just buy one but it is surprisingly hard to find a nice pine bookshelf to match the rest of my room and I need something a bit sturdier for my physics and math textbooks.

    14. My dolls sit in my curio cabinet (it has glass doors). They are shielded from direct sunlight, but you can still stare at them through the doors.

    15. I used to keep them in drawer lined with their pillows. Then along came my 63cm boy and he didn't fit in there. So I put them on the top of my dresser. But then they overran that. Currently they're all in their boxes or carrier stacked at the foot of my bed, both because I've got no better place for them and also because I'm away at school, so I don't want them getting dusty.

    16. I moved a few months ago into my own house so my dolls lost there shelf I had for them at my mom's and dad's house. They now live near my display shelf on benches and pillow chairs along with my generation horse I rescued LOL. I do plan on getting somthing to put them on so they will be higher I have cats and one of my cats loves My female EL for somereason and like to lay on her. However then being on the floor does have on good thing, My great dane diesel sleeps at the foot of my bed and he is very careful around my dolls ever as big as he is. Its kind cute seeing him guard them from mean cats LOL.

    17. I do that, too. Mine is usually in his box, sandwiched between pillows, for protection from the sun and all that. Plus I've added a dehumidifier to the box since it gets pretty humid where I live and I wouldn't want it to affect resin (if it does at all).

    18. My dolls live in my bed. Cael (my biggest boy) sleeps beside me (I have a narrow bed, but I lie reasonably still while sleeping, so it's okay), and my smaller ones are sitting on my bed ward. I think it's nice, waking up to five pairs of dolls' eyes staring at me, but my best-friend finds it creepy, so when she's sleeping over, they live in my closet.

    19. My husband put up a shelf for me where my dolls sit. I usually have one sitting next to me on my desk too. I try to rotate which one sits by me. :)

    20. I keep my dolls on the FLOOR! heh Well, I keep them in my bedroom in a corner, sitting in chairs on the floor. Within the next couple of months, I am going to get a table ontop of which I will make a little "apartment." I also have a velvet-ish chair that is in my living room where I usually have one of them.
