1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A place to keep your dolls......?

Mar 26, 2010

    1. My room is VERY small so space is hard to find. I just got a new bookshelf that has more room to put my BJDs on it, and I moved my old dresser out. I have more space now for more BJDs. :) I need a bigger room ):

    2. I guess I don't have a specific place in particular. They're on stands or furniture and occasionally move rooms as whim permits.

    3. My dolls sit on the hutch in my bedroom. I don't have many places to display them since most of my dolls are big, but sometimes I bring them out to the living room and display them on the mantle.

    4. Mine are either on top of short bookshelves or my bureau in my bedroom, mostly seated on furniture there or standing with doll stands. It's the closest I have to a "special place" for them, and it does work well! They're more or less safe there, the only problem is that one girl's ears fell off and I think one of them is stuck behind the bureau, I'll have to move the whole thing to dig it out when I repair her.

    5. I am contemplating clearing the shelf in my walk-in closet for any new arrivals, because it at least stays reasonably cool in there, and the humidity is starting to get cranked up. But that would be like hiding them away and I'm not sure how OK I am with that ^_^;. But if it means longevity...

    6. I currently own two dolls..Don't laugh but they share my bed.

    7. When I only had 2 dolls they just sat wherever I was or on my dorm's desk shelf... But now I have 7 resin dolls, a few off-topic ones and my mom has 1 resin doll with 2 coming in and 2 more planned... They can't all fit! xD

So my storage plans for my dolls right now: currently sitting on an ice chest against a wall in my dining room.

My mom plans on redesigning our home over the next few years so we will be customizing our upstairs area to be specifically for doll stuff. :) Just another awesome part of parents being in the hobby with you!

    8. Ikea cabinets all the way

    9. Well, my two dolls and single floating head currently live in my drawer.
I'll soon have 5 dolls and a floating head in there...Not gonna fit. Finch and Fly are packed in as it is! Guess it's new home time!
I don't keep them on display, as I have no part of my room that hasn't got UV on it, due to keeping lizards, so I'm waiting till we get a new place before I have them out! Might keep Melba out, though.

    10. My honey and I just got 2 dolls and have no current place to really put them. So, during the day they hang around with us and then at night we put them in a bed that fits them both since they are small. :]

    11. Currently, my dolls are either in their boxes or are in an enclosed cabinet. Once I decide on how many will actually stay here my plans are to revamp a bigger enclosed cabinet I have for them.

    12. My dolls sitting on the bedside table in the corner of the room, hidden in the shadows behind a cupboard.

    13. Sits on my bedside table. But if I am leaving home for awhile, she sits in her box (hidden in my cupboard). (:

    14. When i'm not doing stuff with them mine live in a wooden TV cabinet that I modified a bit. I knocked out a shelf so my big boys would fit and I put a curtain rail on front so I can block out some light. As most of mine are quite large I have them standing with dollstands as they take up a lot of space. It is getting a bit crowded in there so will have to find a new space if any more arrive!

    15. For now my 2 boys are in their boxes until they're "finished" (Jack needs pants and I need to send Parker off for his face up). When they are, they'll probably be going in my bedroom. I'd like to have them in my living room, but I think it gets too much sunlight.

    16. When I had cats, the dolls were in my sister's room, since the kitties weren't allowed in there. But my ex took one, a friend who lost his took in another and my last died a few years back, so I'm currently catless. While I do miss them, it does make a few things easier, like where to put my dolls.

They currently reside on a former TV center in my living room. Most are on the wide spot where the TV would have been, and there's three on the shelves to the sides. I've been thinking about getting something with a smaller footprint but taller, to have more floor space. There is a lower set of shelves on the TV center, but they are too low to fit dolls and currently contain boxes to hold all my doll clothes and stuff. It works for now, but is maxing out and I still have some more doll purchases planned.

    17. Is there anyone who displays their heads? If so how do you display those?

    18. I have special made for dolls closed (with non-transparent door) cupboard.
This cupboard is a part of big wall construction, so if You don't know about dolls inside, You don't know about.
      Oh, my little preciouses!
      ^_____^

    19. My doll moves with me from place to place in my room. When I work at the computer, I put her on a table. When I go to bed, I put her on a chair near the bed. Sometimes, when I need more space or whatever, I put her on the another table. I like the thing that she is always next to me if I'm in my room.
When I get more dolls, I'd like to have some kind of shelf on the wall for them. It's always a pleasure to look at your dolls from time to time, and it's a pleasure too to know your dolls are in safe place.
I don't like cupboards with glass doors... The good thing about them is that dolls are away from sunlight, they are staying in good condition much longer than in the open air... But there is no pleasure for me in just looking on your doll without touching her and playing with her %)

    20. my dolls sit on my table, and i'm trying to keep them away from the sunlight
