1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A place to keep your dolls......?

Mar 26, 2010

    1. I spend most of my time in my room, it's my haven, so that's where I keep my dolls. They make me happy and I like just looking around the room and always seeing them. Plus, they don't have a chance to get dusty that way because I'm always fiddling with them.

      It depends on your circumstances.

    2. Lol, to paraphrase an old nursery rhyme, Upstairs, downstairs, and in my chamber. =D

The only places the dolls don't really hang out are the bathrooms, my partner's workroom, and the kitchen.
That is, except for Lue, who sometimes comes in my bathroom to keep me company when I'm having a nice hot soak in the tub.
He also occasionally joins me in the kitchen while I'm washing dishes or cleaning.
Lue always keeps well away from the water though! ^_^

    3. While reading these posts I was thinking about places I'd be comfortable storing my doll in and got a laugh when I though of a kitchen cabinet, could you just imagine having someone over and they open the cabinet looking for a plate or something and there's a bunch of dolls just relaxing in there?

Besides that though I intend to get a bookshelf or a cabinet with windows when my doll collection grows a bit more.

    4. I keep all my dolls (BJDs and non-BJDs) in my bedroom in two large IKEA cabinets with doors. I have to keep them away from sticky dust and the intense sunlight of the tropics (and also from my small children). But I frequently take them out of the cabinets as I constantly make clothes for them.

    5. I keep mine in my room : ) When I'm not photographing them or making things for them they are in my closet on shelves. After photo shoots I like to sit them somewhere near me so I can admire them some more!

    6. I have to keep my Tetsuya in his box in my closet. I want to have him out and about but I don't have any clear space for him(he's SD sized) at the moment.

    7. My dolls are on top of my dresser in my room. I suppose one day I should get a display cabinet for them since I have a tendency to throw unfolded laundry on them.

    8. I recently moved, so I don't have a place for my girls. They currently sit on top of the DVD cabinet in my living room. I am wanting to get some shelves in my bedroom and make something on there for them.

I see alot of people using built-in/walk-in wardrobes into doll houses and I think that is such an amazing idea!

    9. I store the dolls on the shelf in a bedroom. Windows are closed by a curtain.

    10. My little ones are all stored in an open space in my wardrobe, at the bottom. It had sliding doors, but I removed them so they all sit pretty on display, with a doll bed for the smaller ones :)

    11. I usually keep all my dolls in their boxes, but sometimes I take my BJD out and keep her on my desk. I like to look at her a lot, lol. But she always goes back into her box before the end of the day.

    12. I keep my doll on the coffee table so I can try things on her easily as I knit for her.

    13. What I want to do is make a doll trunk for each of them. Something like this- http://www.dollcloset.com/media/18inTrunkagreatrbuy.jpg
I like how you can keep the doll and all the clothes in one trunk. They're kind of expensive,so if I get one at all I would have to make it.

    14. My dolls are kept on my dresser, and one of them is usually sitting on a little stool that is about the size of a couch for them. Though I plan to get a display case one day. c:

    15. I keep mine in my room - only out of fear my roommates or their friends will get their grubby little hands all over them and/or damage and twist them into perverted poses. (Only I'm allowed to do that :P)

So, I measured 26 or so inches for the top of my book shelf and adjusted all the shelves below that and turned the top shelf into their sitting area. It worked out well as I get to see them every day and if my roommates want to see them - they have to ask. No more panic attacks.

    16. I used to keep my girl in her box stacked at the top of a stack of other things I collect in the living room (surprisingly she never fell from there), now that I have a closet she lives in there

    17. I keep two dolls downstairs out on a bookshelf, they are a little hardier so they can take it. My newest msd sits upstairs on a bookshelf that isn't hit by light. She's in her box right now though, she is coming with me to a meet in two days!

    18. My MSDs and smaller sit down in front of my TV on a pretty high up dresser. My SD girls are almost always in a book case with glass doors along with extra parts for my dolls (high heel feat, floating head). My DZ Miss Kitty is packed in her box because I love her so much that I'm terrified of her getting messed up or something :( My SD boy has sat in my bed since he arrived on Monday. When I go to my grandparents house and stay the night, he comes along with me. When I sleep, he sits with pillows propping him up so he's safe and won't fall down. When I go anywhere else in the house, he joins me.

    19. I keep my doll inside her box in my closet mostly because my sister has a little daughter that likes to be in my room a lot, so I can't take my doll out as much as I would like to. Also my city is REALLY sunny, so even if we didn't have little children I still would have to keep it in the closet so she doesn't yellow.

    20. My dolls live on a chair in my bedroom where I can see them!
