1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A place to keep your dolls......?

Mar 26, 2010

    1. Six foot tall bookcase with 6 shelves. My boys occupy the top half with themselves and their clothes/accessories. :) So far it's proving to be cat-proof..

    2. I went the bookshelves route, too.

I've got two on opposite sides of my family room. All of my tinies & Yo-SD's sit on one bookshelf, and my MSD's and SD's sit on the other. And my trinity has taken to sitting in my recliner. But I also rotate them and will bring some in my office, or various other parts of my house. My house is their house, basically x3

    3. Mine is currently in her box after my dad took my shelf to make part of the bunk bed I share with my boyfriend, so hopefully he replaces her shelf soon.

    4. Mine is currently on my bed now sleeping XD

    5. Bookcase in my room. I think it's a perfect place to keep dolls, because bookshelves are big enough for a 70 cm doll to lay there (I like to keep dolls in this position. I think that it prevents the string from loosening to fast. My experience shows that dolls may need restringing after sitting on a shelf all the time). I also like that my bookcase has wooden doors. It means that dolls are protected from sunlight.

    6. I had them sitting on top of a dresser at some point, but right now they are all packed up in their boxes to save space. When I get a larger place to live I'm going to get a nice cabinet for them to lounge in, and preferably with nifty little drawers to sort their stuff into. I have so many ideas and criterias for said cabinet, I just want to hijack an apartment and put it all into motion immediately.

    7. I have a small bookcase where I keep a few books and my various dolls :)

    8. My room actually gets a lot of sunlight. So, I'm either thinking about leaving my doll in the basement (I use the basement as my second room) or if I leave it in my room, I'm thinking about getting a fancy box for it to stay until I come back home during the night.

    9. We have a three bedroom house and no children or roommates, so one of the extra rooms became a doll room. The wall is all shelving deep enough to create rooms for the dolls to be displayed. Most are in that display, but I also have a doll couch for the ones without rooms, and my two grails are on my doll room dresser and a table in my sewing room.

    10. Some of my dolls are in their boxes under my bed. Some are inside couch. We have older one and there in a place for pillows and duvets in it. Some dolls are sitting in our livingroom.
I'm going to get cabinet for them so I can keep them in one place.

    11. Right Now my one girl and her little goat friend stays in her box, but I do put her out from time to time in a doll chair I have. When I get a place for them I will have them out to gaze at all the time. The place I want to put them is on an old dresser with a big mirror on the back in my room with my computer. But it's so disorderly in there right now im scared something might happen to them. Hahaha.

    12. I live in a small apartment so mine have taken over the kitchen table we never really used in the living room. We work afternoons/nights so we have black out curtains through the whole apartment. Makes it possible to sleep during the day so this works out dollywise too. They each have a place to sit and I keep them in whitish clothing unless they are coming out with me.

    13. I have a 5-layer wooden corner shelf that I use to display figures and hold stuff. A couple weeks ago I reorganized it and now I have a layer of the shelf solely for doll stuff.

    14. At the moment they're spread out between two different shelves, and honestly, it's not my favorite set-up for them. One on bookcase their legs hang over the edge so it makes it difficult to reach anything on the shelf beneath them, and then the others are sitting on a shelf that's sort of tucked away in an awkward spot which makes it difficult to even see them (at least they're hidden from sunlight?). Oh yes, and then I have one standing on my dresser because I think I strung her legs weird and she can't sit down properly.

Sadly, this is the best I can do at the moment for them because their just simply isn't any other place for them to go. My goal someday is to be able to spread them out over two separate rooms, the living room where two or three will hang out, and then a hobby room for the others. I REALLY want a set up someday for all my dolls to be able to stand instead of sit, but since 9 of them are SD-sized that could prove tricky.

    15. I had mine on a shelf over a sewing desk for a while. But then the room was cleared out for a new floor and built in cabinet system. So I turned a writing desk into a temporary solitude for the dolls. Then it sort of became their personal residence. All their stuff fits in there. The door drops down and becomes an extended table basically. Completely protects them from any sun light. But I live in a cave so I don't really have to worry about that.

    16. I plan on getting a custom case done at Custom Display Cases: -
They already have some barbie sized cases that would work for smaller dolls, but I'm going to get a wall mountable custom case with a door for a 50cm doll I'm planning on getting.

    17. I keep my dolls in my closet on a shelf would love to get them there own personalized spot or display case.

    18. Well I don't have my first resin one yet but she does have a "room" to stay in...hopefully if she fits. I have an old computer desk that has a shelf for books above wherethe computer sits. Well I sold my computer and now have a a laptop that doesn't sit in that space. So I'm getting/making a bed for my RS Mei and making that area her room.

    19. i keep my dolls on a shelf attached to a wall in my room, i rarely open the blinds in there so its the perfect place.

    20. Finally, my dolls have their own dedicated space for themselves and their furniture. 3 feet by 5 feet is theirs in the corner of my bedroom in my tiny apt. They have a bedroom/office that sits on a hardwood floor surrounded by three walls (two actual walls and a fake one that is only as high as my waist.)

3 x 5 feet of my floor. Try measuring that out, its nothing to sneeze at.

Before that my four dolls floated around amidst the clutter, trying not to get stepped on. But those dark times are now over. XD
