1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A place to keep your dolls......?

Mar 26, 2010

    1. When I am not at home, my doll is kept in her box in our closet. I don't have or want a formal display. n_n

    2. right now my doll is sitting on a shelf in my bookshelf. i removed two of the shelves so he could stand too and there is room for a few more dolls. i keep him on the same side of the wall as my window and my window is covered with blinds and curtains so he never gets any sunlight.

when i have two many dolls for the bookshelf im not sure what i will do. i might have to make the spare bedroom my new doll room but i think i would prefer to keep them in my room where i can look at them and admire them and know my new puppy is not chewing on one.

    3. They're sitting on a chest right now, which is a pain because when I have to open it, all the dolls have to be taken off (there are nearly 20 on there, only one being a bjd). But it's a nice display spot so I don't mind it too much, I just try not to keep anything too important in the chest.

    4. I have a day bed in my office (for what reason, I don't know. My parents refuse to get rid of it and sometimes I wonder if they aren't hiding an secret sibling around here somewhere. XD) My dolls sit on that. :3 When I need them out of the way, they sit in a shelf in my walk-in closet.

    5. I used to keep mine in an entertainment center, but it just wasn't the size or look I was going for, so I finally broke down an built an SD sized Dollhouse.
Here are a few photos showing the progress, and finished product.

This is the beginning. I left the upper level open faced and "Dressed" the house like a Victorian Row house

Here is the finished outside, weathered to look old. The lower front of the house opens for storage, as well as a working Front Door.

Here is a goofy photo of me in front of the Doll House, I am 6'2", so it gives you a better idea of it's size.
The Doll House stands over 6 feet tall (on wheels) and is 30 inches deep and 47 inches wide

and lastly, a photo of the upstairs interrior. The wall paper is on foam core and can be switched out whenever.
Dolls shown are a Soom Namu and a Glorydoll/Dollstown hybrid.

      I hope you enjoyed looking!

    6. i just keep them in their boxes, some on the top of my computer cabinet...some are in the other cabinet, never have enough space to place them(and myself)

    7. oh my, i've read your guys posts and feel like i'm not a good mother of my dolls that much ><
my dolls are showing on my working desk , yes all of them.

but i'm planing to make a small house for them ><

    8. Love your display "regency drawing room" cabinet!!!

Mine live in a revamped bow fronted display cabinet, I took all the glass shelves out so they could stand up and I'm in the process of making it into a kind of theatre so the dolls will all be on stage. It's in my work room right next to my desk so while I'm slaving away at the Mac all day I can ogle my dolls! Will post some picks when it's finally finished.

    9. Mine life in a drawer T__T
But soon they will move to the top of my dresser >: D

    10. Allison Wonder very cool display, love the Victorian theme!

Mine reside in my bedroom on a bench but am hoping to move and have a doll room or at least a walk-in-closet.

    11. Mine originally took over a shelf in my bookcase, in the loft where I spend most of my time. But they kind of outgrew that so I bought one of those stackable wire-cube things and now they have separate 'bedrooms'. Not that Riou uses his, he's always up with Nagi so I think his 'room' will get reassigned to Touda... Oh and that shelf, I still haven't gotten that back, apparently that is going to become a 'library'. Dolls are so demanding at times...

    12. I have a special display cabinet for them in my bedroom, in safety from my cats =))

    13. I live in a rather small house and spend most of the time in the living room where I also have my desk and computer. About half my resin family sits in the bookcase and the other half on the desk and since I spend most of my time there and want to have as many dolls as possible close to me for as long as possible. ^_^

    14. Allison Wonder,Wow.....love your house!......I was in to dolls houses before Bjds.

    15. I really want a huuuuuge house with proper furniture and everything :)

    16. Allison Wonder I'm sorry, but that is just the most AWESOME THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!! So cool :D

I used one of the tutorials here on DoA to turn my SDFloy's box into a double bed for him XD I put him in it at night (I don't trust putting him up high in case I wake up in the night and knock him over by accident in the dark). During the day he'll go wherever I feel like putting him.

At the moment he's sitting on my desk, but I sometimes sit him on his bed, or keep him on my lap if I'm watching a movie :)

    17. My dolls follow me around the house. Next to me on the sofa, or sitting on my desk while I'm working. At night I put them in their bed in the apartment that I made in my closet. While I'm at school, they sit on the "couch" in another "room" of the apartment. But mostly they're wherever I am :)

    18. OMG, Allison Wonder, that. dollhouse. is. epic. :D

My dolly doesn't have a place atm... she just kind of wanders around the house where she's out of the way. Usually it's on my sewing desk or nearby. ^_^

    19. @Allison Wonder - LOVE your doll house!

      -

Mine generally stay on bookcases or dressers, or in their boxes. I have pets, and after two wigs were hijacked as toys, I've learned to keep the dolls away from the main pet areas.

    20. I have a small bookshelf (smaller than a nightstand) for them. I throw a double-over sheet on it to cover them from dust and light (I love to have lots of light in my room, so this is necessary during the day). I take the cover off at night. If I ever really want them around during the day I just close the blinds and take them out. Usually I'm busy with homework anyway though...
