A Small Collection or a Big One?

Jun 11, 2012

    1. I was going to have just one. Then just two. Okay, just five... Ten max. Currently my max is set at 15.
I really want a small collection, but there are so many beautiful and cool dolls and I have a hard time parting with them. :sweat

    2. I'm hoping that my abjd collection will be the smallest. I have three other doll collections (30 momokos, 15 Blythes and 8 Liccas) and I know how easy it is for a few to turn into many! I think the cost will help this one to stay small for longer and I want to keep it under 5 if I can. I don't like tinies and SD size seemed too big for me so that will help!

    3. Small! I like to have tons of clothes for each one of my dolls and having more than four would definitely destroy my wallet. At this point in time I can't imagine myself having more than three although there are plenty of sculpts I really admire.

    4. I am planning to keep to 7 or 8 dolls max. I already have 6 and I am starting to feel the strain of caring for all of them due to lack of sewing skills and ready money.

    5. Small :) I simply don't have room and I also love to have a ton of clothing and accessories!

    6. I originally only wanted one, but I couldn't decide on which body so I kept both :P since I have unoa's... Te faceplates are endless :P they share bodies so that helps me keep the number to 2 full dolls. I did recently buy a boy doll so I'm now at three. Usually when I have more than 2 dolls... I get overwhelmed and sell sell sell. Luckily since the third is a boy... I haven't had that feeling yet. I think 3 for me is a good number :) *crosses fingers* but so many dolls out there that I would like to own >_<

    7. I plan on keeping my collection relatively small, say under 10 dolls, for the foreseeable future.

    8. Right now, I have two SDs, one MSD, one floating head, one tiny, and another tiny "companion doll" on the way. I have the absolute max number of dolls that I can care for and take out all once, and enough variety that I can mix it up when I feel like it. I'd love to stay here, especially since I have three males and three females, which is a nice balance. It's hard though, because I see a lot of stuff I like out there, but luckily, nothing I absolutely love. Lately though, my money goes to doll clothes and keeps me away from new dolls. I've said this before. But I hope it'll stick this time!

    9. I agree with a small collection. Our place is not big and more dolls more mouths to feed!

    10. Mine is the old story of not getting what you wanted in the first place, then buying it, and keeping what you already had.
Like someone said before me, up to 5 dolls, would still count as a small collection, after reaching 10, I'll call it a big one. My intention is staying under ten, and with my last few doll purchases, I will consider my collection finished. Props and accesoires will be growing, but as for dolls, I hope no other will strike a chord like the last two did. I was fully intending on not buying more.... until Loki came around, and that quatro dragon.....

    11. I have to admit that a big collection would be awsome. But I'm keeping mine relatively small. Or maybe it's medium, like some people pointed out.
Current number's 7 +1 who has become permanent resident. I have plans for buying one or two more dolls, but I guess that will be it.
My plan is not to exceed the 10 dolls limit.

    12. small collection is good, i used to have more than 10, not every doll is being well taking care of, so i re-homed a few and only have 5 now

    13. I'd like to keep my limit at 10 but well, I don't know. The most important thing is to keep every single doll clothed and happy :3 everyone should have a faceup and a wig before I adopt anydolly else!
-Thanks God I'm fond of MSDs, I don't know how I'd do if I liked SDs better xD I would be broke all the time-

    14. Small collection , I guess 5 dolls are enough for me . Clothes are a huge problem because I love to see my boys in fancy clothes . I keep buying cool clothes and fabric for my boy and I can't stop myself . If I have more than 5 dolls , I would be broke all the time . My Kazuki only live with me for four days and he has 5 outfits now . :sweat

    15. I have 2 dolls now, a Dreaming Doll Molly and a Teenie Gem. I like to have different sizes to make clothes for my daughter's dolls. But I only want one of each size. Perhaps 2 of the smaller dolls.

    16. Well I started with one...a Resin Soul Lian. I now have over 22 and a couple of headless bodies and a few floating heads. I have rehomed some that I decided I no longer was attached to including Lian. I have rehomed all of my SD sized (full) dolls except a hybrid Bard Pitt vampire, two Luna Tamers, and a Soom Ignim. I decided to stick with MSD dolls so I can fit more of them in my doll room. I don't care for tinies unless they are cats or cat anthros.
I have another DC doll on the way and she is an SD but she is an exception because she is so weird (Barbara). And I have ordered an Aileen fullset Lucy who is also a cat anthro. I have no plans to limit the number as long as I can pay my bills and they don't start leaking out of the doll room into the rest of the house.

    17. I'd like to keep my collection pretty small and originally planned four dolls total. The problem is (or, I guess it's not really a problem, but...) I keep seeing more that I like and then there are events where you can sometimes get free smaller dolls and, well... I have five now and am waiting on more that I've already paid for. How the heck did this happen? So quickly??

    18. What a great question... I would LOVE a big collection, but I know that financially that is just not going to be feasible, so I try to be very picky about which dolls become characters in my doll world. Right now I have one ABJD with another one on the way. I have plans to buy atleast 2 more in the next 2 years. To accomadate my desire for a big 'family' I augment my BJD collection with similar scaled dolls from non-BJD companies.

    19. I started small with 2 dolls, but overtime have built up a large collection 20 plus. Now I have a better idea of what's needed to round out my collection. Going forward I plan to be more selective when adding to my doll family.

    20. I have never had more the 5 at once. I currently only have one. Money is an issue but I could afford to have more then one I have just come to a point where I love love love the one that I have and that works for now.
