A Small Collection or a Big One?

I only have 2 bjds, but I probably have 150-200 other types of dolls. I feel like I'm getting too many dolls, and I would like to focus more on acquiring things for the dolls, such as costumes and wigs. I think I would like at least one more bjd. I'm starting to decide quality is much better than quantity.

 

When all my heads get bodies I should have around 10. That feels like a lot to me personally so I'll probably stop after that. I really can't imagine being one of those people who have a single type of object cluttered all over their living space. That just seems like a fire hazard to me.

 

For now, since I don't have a a lot of money, I can't afford a big collection ; but I would love to have about ten dolls, that would be amazing ! Sooo, I'd love a big collection, even if I only have small now^^

 

I admire dolls over 60 CM, for now my collection is between Iplehouse EID & SID size, 6 dolls and my eye is on another one hopefully soon, I think it's a doll hobby nature is to try to have all the dolls you like, so I guess no matter what you will do to keep your collection small it will grow again somehow specially for some people like me I don't sell my dolls to get new one or because I got bored of them so eventually I think my collection will be big

 

I just want all the dolls on my wishlist then I will be happy so all together I think thats about 50 dolls so I'm not sure if that is to big but its what I want ^ ^

 

back when I started I was repulsed by large collections. I wanted 4 at most. I'm now at 6, and I want 10 at least. But the idea of having 10 or more makes me feel sick. So I have no idea what I am going to do. :,(

Small as I don't have space for a big collection (especially at SD sizes and upwards)

How many dolls would you determine as a little or a lot?In terms of cost per a doll. More than 5 dolls would be a lot. I don't think I would go above 4 as that would take up at least two shelves.

Well, in June of 2012 I had 19. Now? 25. And I am saving up for 2 more *head desk*. Latest addition was from Dollism 2014 and was an unplanned purchase but the opportunity to have him was too good to pass up. I truly believe that if somebody way back when I bought my first doll told me that a half dozen years into the hobby I'd own over 2 dozen of the little wallet vampires, I'd have laughed myself silly and asked them what they'd been smoking.

Right now my collection is VERY small (just one doll and a head XD) but I can't see it staying that way. I'd love to have a bigger collection and have so many characters to shell > . <

Hmmm, I think I'd say less than 8 would be a small collection and then over 15 for a big large collection. I guess that means 8 - 14 is an average collection? However, I think it also depends on the size of the dolls; I think SDs can make a collection big quite quickly XD

 

I want to keep my collection small. Only up to 5 max. That will limit how much I spend. lol. Having a large collection will only remind me how much I've spent.

I have a large collection of resin bjds - 71 so far. I would like to reduce this to maybe 50, not sure yet. I can't seem to decide which should go and which should stay LOL.

Medium maybe? I have 8 at the moment, will be 10 by next week since I have two incoming. I also have two floating heads, so when they have bodies I'll be at 12. I can see myself ending up around 18-20 maybe, but over 20... I don't know. I don't really set limits or rules for myself with this hobby though (except the obvious economical ones), so we'll see where it goes
Edit: gave it some thought adding up the ones on the top of my wishlist... I guess I'll end up somewhere at the 25 mark

A little, I'd say under five, many would be 20+ and a lot 30+. Depends on the size though, 25 80cm dolls or 25 tinies doesn't seem like the same amount due to the difference in space taken up.

 

As of now, I already have 4 characters [though, I don't really think they can be called even that, seeing as I only have the faintest idea as to how they would be] that I want to resinized, and there'd probably be more in the future. x'D
So, I guess personally, I'm planning on just having around a collection that doesn't exceed more than 20 dolls, though, I don't really know just how many I'd actually get in reality.
The 'just right' amount of doll collection for me is probably around 10-15. A big collection is having 20+ dolls, and a small collection is having less than 10 dolls. That's only for me, though. c:

 

I plan on keeping my doll collection small from here on in. I own other dolls that are not bjds that taking up too much space as it is. In order to make room for any bjd, I will have to downsize. A big collection for me would be five or more dolls. I think given how many dolls I have in total any thing over two would be large. A small collection would consist of two dolls. But this is a criteria I base on myself, keeping in mind the space I have at home, not to mention my funds.

 

I think I'm gonna keep my collection pretty small- for now.

 

I'm planning on keeping my doll collection small at the moment, I have ordered a SDC and a SD, and I'm planning on putting money aside for when a male doll comes out that I like. I might get a DD, or see another doll I like but I'm planning on keeping it 5 dolls or under.

Plus 13 dolls in the wishlist (11 + 2 characters I'd like to have that I haven't found shells for). So the total tally? 52...

The way I see it is 1-10 dolls make a small collection, 10-20 would be a moderate one, 20-30 is getting a bit much... Anything over 30 is A LOT.
