1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A successful alternative to your dream BJD?

Jul 13, 2014

    1. Doll Chateau Elizabeth and Matthew are my grail dolls. I would be happy with just the sculpt. But I didn't really find other spider bodies or vampire bodies somewhere else :XD: They're really Doll Chateau-style I guess. (And I like that style very much)

    2. Rillja, Azure has some beautiful features, I think I would still want him too. He looks a bit melancholy.

Pixie_Ella, I don't think there could be any alternative to those unique DC bodies! Similarly with Soom's monthy dolls, there could be no replacements for those if you fell in love with one. Good luck gettiing one some day! (Are they limited?)

    3. Oh! I just posted a thread in the photo reference section about this exact problem! One of my dream girls has always been a Soom Shadow Onyx... while I didnt get ahold of the sculpt in gray I did get it in ns. The problem is that I really dislike the SD size, so I think I will be attempting to reshell her into a Withdoll Emma- who I also think is gorgeous. I hope with a similar faceup and the design I wanted that she will be like... a younger sister or something XD

    4. I really really, wanted a Dollshe David but he was so expensive and big, so when dollshe came out with the mini version of him, I just had to have. :dance I'm also eventually getting his big version, when I move and after I save some $

    5. I've wanted an Unoa for really long time however since they are so hard to find I got a Mystic Kids Lillian because in my opinion she has a similar look.

    6. ArouraAnn, it is a shame when the "perfect" doll for you just isn't in the size you want! I hope the faceup can help Emma look like Onyx for you, the right faceup can do wonders.

JayO, I just saw the new Dollshe sculpts! They look like perfect smaller versions.

ProbablySara, I think that Lillian DOES have a very similar look and feel! She's very cute.

    7. It's really hard for me to settle with a doll because I didn't get the one I originally wanted. I have two grails; a Soom Cheshire and a Ringdoll Zombie Sol. I love the cat face on the Cheshire and I have the body and cat parts with me but I can't seem to get my hands on the head. I don't think there is another doll like Zombie Sol so I really can't settle with someone else. Usually when I find either one on the marketplace, I don't have any money either but I hope to get my Cheshire finished soon. I think my family is getting weirded out by seeing a little headless body next to my big dolls.

    8. I really want a berry centaur with the feathery legs. I'm having trouble finding them so I might just get another luts centaur and add the feathers myself. Trying to stay positive. There's a happy side to everything

    9. I tried to do this after searching for years for a Gomidoll Igon head. I found a Gomidoll I-bi head for sale and bought it, hoping that at least a head by the same sculptor would put me at ease. I promptly sent him off for a faceup similar to Igon's default, and then I saw a Revised Igon up for sale... and of course I jumped on that! But I couldn't part with I-Bi, even though he hasn't returned yet, he'll still be staying with me. Igon might just have a little brother. ;) But I do think that if I had never found the Igon I dreamed of, I-Bi would have helped me feel better about it. A Gomidoll is a Gomidoll, after all!

    10. My grail is a Soom Amber, and I ended up getting her. I didn't see a possible alternative, because it was the fullset that made her my grail. I just loved her face, faun ears, outfit, and her hooves are unique to her specifically. I know that I would be pining after her even if I did get a replacement, so I just saved up for her, got lucky, and found exactly what I wanted on the MP.

    11. That is so sweet, thank you! I hope everything works out, I think I will know the minute I open the box :D And thanks to my SO I think I will actually be able to bring her home this season :treecookie its so magical!

    12. My grail was a Volks F-32. She was a Sato only sculpt and seems to be quite unpopular, so it took years for me to find one. I eventually did, though. F-32 is such a unique sculpt, there just didn't seem to be any other sculpt that could take her place! So never give up, because you never know when your dream doll will suddenly appear (and at a very good price, too)!

    13. Oh, congrats!! F-32 is one of my very favorites - I'll be hunting one down someday as well!
