ABJD Lovers Under 17 Years Old!

M'kay guys,well,I am making a hybrid (DZ NS-P skin) body and my Luka head together. Because (1) its cheaper w/ dollzone's bodies. And (2) it may not take as long to get here considering I am going 2nd hand. And what's awesome is I may have enough left to get a Karsh!! =^-^=

@VitreousSanity13- Well I looked at many pictures on the MNF threads,and went to the Hybrids w/ MNFS thread and they said it was a perfect match. It matched as good as the reg. MNF bods..so..I'm gonna try it!

Do you guys find that most of your bjds are based off of your OCs or no? I'm not sure who all on here writes/draws so it would be interesting to see!

 

Three of my bjd idea concepts are of OCs. The rest are going to be characters from shows.

 

The vast majority of my future dolls will be modeled after my OC's, though I do have plans for some character dolls down the road.

 

Well,my dolls are both characters from stories I've wrote. So..xD

 

Hey guys. So I was gonna restring my BJD. And I got her head off. And I am like, nervous to death. It's my first time and I'm scared I'll mess her up. I have rehersed the tutorial I saw online for starters millions of times on how to unstring a bbb espree but I am sitting here,staring at her neck,freaking. Help of encouragement,LOL?

 

@Melanie Like we were discussing before, none of my dolls are based off of oc's...but i don't really mind! (I wish i could write!)

@Dolly (Sorry this is a little late) Yeah, you'll do fine! I'v only done it a couple times before. As long as you watch some videos and you have the basic idea, i think you'll be okay!! Good luck!!

So I got my stuff from MonstroDesigns! Everything is so cute..I actually ended up ordering a couple more things too...(I am a sucker for cute things..) I'll take some pictures tomorrow for you guys ;D

I used to have OCs back from my gaia roleplaying days... My dolls are just random traits put together, I guess. :T
Now that I think about it though, one of my old OCs used to originally be a red headed violinist, sorta like my red headed cellist, Chrysalis. LOL.

Speaking of getting orders, one of my recent ones got lost in the mail. Arg.

 

That's awesome! Right now I'm working on some stuff (OC wise) for my next bjd. I'm hoping to snag one of Volks future LE super dollfies, but right now I'm just in the saving/drawing board process. I didn't really bond with my first bjd like I thought I would.. so I'm hoping this one will be different!

Hale and I say thanks guys! I love the black too He's ridiculously picky though x.x Every color I've held up to him looks bad, at some point I'll just pick something and go with it.

On shipping costs, I swear it's a killer. If you order $2 magnets, I think the price of shipping to the US bumps it up to something like $22, its ridiculous!

VitreousSanity13 - He's so cute! So Soren's the one you're going to upgrade to a Ducan? Is that to grow him up some in terms of physical appearance or a change for some other reason?

dollyb- Good luck, you'll do great! And it does get a lot easier after one or two goes.

Melanie- I'm kinda with Oniisan here, my characters date back a few years to roleplaying days with a former friend, nowadays we don't talk so the characters themselves have branched off into their own entities separate from the roleplaying world we made up. xD I generally like to have a pre-existing character for a doll but I'm definitely not opposed to creating a character for a doll and fitting it into the story, since it just gives me more material to write about and develop.

I think the different ways people go about how they view their dolls (like pretty objects, photographic models, characters, etc...) is really cool though. Good luck with getting your Volks! Their sculpts are so pretty Which girl(s) do you have in mind?

Speaking of Volks...I swear lately every time I come across a breathtakingly beautiful boy on DA it turns out to be a Sch. A. T_T

 

Anikaze Soren was originally supposed to be a Ducan when I first got into the hobby. I wasn't too sure about SD size though as I read a lot of comments during my research saying that they were very heavy. In compromise I picked a similar looking doll in a smaller size. Then I started going to meets and actually saw an SD in person. I bought my Heliot last fall and since I got him, I have toyed with the idea of sizing him up. He is technically supposed to be physically older than the Kirill lets him look. Significantly considering that he has children. So it's pretty much just reshelling him to better suit his character as well as my growth in the hobby.

Everything you can do with bjds is so versatile. That's what I think is really intriguing about them. I just did a rough sketch today of a new OC that I want to make into a Volks. I'm really not sure which mold yet, I would like to wait and see if they have any lotteries coming up for LEs. I have no idea who/what she is yet. Her backstory is yet to be made, but her name is Perle. (please don't judge my bad drawing skills. I haven't drawn since art class in May and I don't have a scanner so quality will be poor)
