ABJD Lovers Under 17 Years Old!

Hi everyone! My second doll has been ordered-- Island Doll Ivy (a wonderful 16th birthday present from my mother)! I've been eyeing her for a while; I'm so excited! I only found one owner picture of her, so I'm really anticipating if she'll look different from the company pictures, or similar. The wait is going to kill me, though. Abel was an in-stock doll at Mint on Card, so he got to my house in 3 days. My girl is going to take a lot longer, though, haha.

...and since I also received lots of birthday money, plus my savings, finally getting my characters Jack Frost and Cyrus (<-click) shelled, is looking very bright. c:

The first time I heard of bjds was from the anime Rozen Maiden, maybe...4 or 5 years ago? I was looking up pictures, and found photos of the Volks Suiseiseki. I fell in love with her, but after seeing the price and the prices of other dolls, I gave up the dream for a while. ^^;

well...Shunyuki first spammed me links to doll companies and such on MSN, then let me touch her Doll family Lingfeng (Sen) and from there I got more and more interested and finally got my own doll late 2010, early 2011!

I have been layawaying and saving for three weeks. I ended up buying body and head separate but, their both coming home! So with saving and waiting for ship and getting here about a month xD

I'v been debating getting a Minifee Chloe. I know she's super popular, but she's so cute!(Which is obviously why she's popular) This probably wouldn't be for a couple months, but I can't help but dream..

Sorry I've been so MIA!
I ended up having to spend the majority of the money I had saved for that Soom MD, so I've given up on that venture. Although, I recently discovered some really amazing pictures of Unoa girls on tumblr and I am kind of falling in love!

Considering my job ends on the 7th because of the XC season, getting one of them will probably be postponed until after Christmas time. Not to mention they are already hard to get! But yeah, that is just my little update, I suppose.

Well, my saving is going well. I still don't know who I'm saving for yet, though I'm sure that it won't take me long to decide once I have a decent amount of money to spend. I'm not in any hurry though!

And here's a question to everyone:
How do you people manage to save up for new dolls and at the same time buy things for your current dolls?
I'm finding it kind of troublesome to be honest... I promised myself I wouldn't buy a new doll soon but at the same time thought I could still try and save up some money in the long run just for the sake of it but I often find myself spending it in new props and accessories for my girl! It is so frustrating! :s

 

xSushi I usually make 2 piles of money, one for my dolls and one for personal use (personal use gets loke 10% of whatever I have). Doll money is for buying new dolls, while personal money goes to doll accessories and clothes (along with my snacks and stuff...).

 

dollyb Oh gosh, face-ups. I'm still waiting to hear the progress on my Heliot's face-up. I'm not worried, but I miss him so much!

xSushi For me, my dolls get clothing in between my doll projects. I alternate somewhat and hold things off to get whatever is "needed" at that specific time. If I want a new doll, I'll save every penny I can in order to save for them quickly. Once they are set with at least one outfit, a pair of shoes, eyes, and a wig, then I can start on getting everyone's wardrobes filled out again. Outfits, accessories, and props are what I do when saving for a big doll isn't exactly convenient or possible.
