ABJD Lovers Under 17 Years Old!

I had a random thought today. I kind of want to make an Adventure Time character into a bjd. I just thought that would be really fun to try and find all the stuff to complete it. Maybe one of the princesses or something... but if none of you watch it, then you would probably have no idea what I'm talking about...

Does anyone else have a bjd that is a character from a show/book?

 

MelanieGaldes I plan on shelling at least two of the characters from the web comic Homestuck into dolls. I'm kind of excited for it, as the characters are sort of peculiar and will be a challenge for me.

 

I've been hearing about that on tumblr actually. I never understood the reference until now.

I never really thought about having a bjd other than my own OC, but now the thought is kind of appealing to me!

 

I didn't until recently! With so many OCs I didn't think that I would need or want to, but now I think that it will be something new and different. A new kind of challenge.

Minus me freaking out thinking a seam line was a crack..<.<
Then I realized quickly what it was xD
I never thought a MNF would be so darn cute!

And as far as OC dolls, I am actually saving to get a JiD Boris now to make him Andrew Garfield/Peter Parker/spiderman. :3

Well,right now,the only thing I have done with her is put her on a BBB body. Nothing matches,but it is just till she gets her own MNF body so that I am not staring at a headless body. :S

 

dollyb that's a good idea. A lot of people have trouble bonding with a floating head... -w-

Surpisingly, my Resinsoul body is resin match and size matched dead on! A lot of people said the newer RS resin and MNF resin doesn't match- but it does!
Until I can get a proper neck piece, Sock monkey and Blue eyes spam!

 

Thanks to HoushiChan and VitreousSanity13 I decided to separate my money in 2 piles as well: one for personal use and other for dolls stuff. If by the end of the month I manage not to spend all my personal money I will add what's left to the doll stuff pile. Oh, and the dolls stuff pile will also be split into 2 piles: one for stuff and other for dolls. Hope this works ^^ Thank you girls for sharing your opinions

Now a new question I'm afraid has been discussed over here already: Do you take your dolls with you on vacation? Even when you have to go on a plane? What if the place you're going to is sunny and hot?
I'm wondering if it is a good idea to take my girl with me to Marroco this Summer...

MapleSquad aww Dalsoo is cute. At first I was thinking "What animal is that... hamster?" But turns out otter. I otter research my animals better (sorry for really really bad pun. I'm going insane over homework).

 

My Migidoll Owen head is here! Well, he's at my grandma's house because we don't have a mailbox, so I'll be going to get him soon. I also got some pastels for his face-up, but I'm going between just using the Testors I got, or ordering some Zouks instead.

I took Abel with me on vacation. We went to the beach, though, so I only got him out once for pictures because it was ungodly hot. ^^; The rest of the time, he stayed in his box in the hotel room. I'd be a little bit wary of taking a doll on a plane, probably...but I've never been on one, so...

I really want to take her with me but at the same time I can't stop being afraid something bad might happen although I can see other BJD owners bring dolls to a lot of places all the time. I think I'm scared because I always carry way too much stuff with me. I don't know how I'll manage to bring my doll, my camera and my laptop with me... Probably will have to ask my sister and cousins for a favor >.<

 

HelloMyStar Yeah, the plane ride it's what is making me nervous about it. After returning from Morocco I'm going to the Algarve (south of Portugal) but I will go by car and to a rented house so I know everything will be fine then.
But the photos opportunity would be endless in Morocco! I just can't decided if they would be worth the risk... :/

MelanieGaldes I don't have plans to make adventure time bjd characters, but I always thought that Unoa Sist and Unoa Lusis would make a great Marceline and Peebles respectively! The hardest part of course would be getting Marcy's skin colour right :O

I'm planning to make one of my guys cosplay as Dirk from homestuck too ;D

xSushi Seems pretty safe to me. I am kinda wary of the customs though. > - >;; Make sure you carry her with you wherever you go!

I just meant characters from other things in general.

And yes, the skin color is what is throwing me off. Not many companies are making dolls with colorful skin.

So the search continues!

 

I got my Migidoll Owen head, and I'm working on my first face-up! It's not as hard as I thought it would be, actually. I can't finish it until I get watercolor pencils, but it's a start? ^^; Anywho, his name is Jack Frost. ovo So that's why he's so pale and pink and looks like he needs a bowl of chicken noodle soup, haha. Side view, and front view.

And on the topic of making character based dolls, I'm considering getting a tiny from Fantasy Doll (they're so cute!) and making a little version of Jack Vessalius from Pandora Hearts. c: I'd also like a tiny of Tenkou from Haigakura~

 

I might have found the perfect bjd to shell out an Adventure Time Marceline.
