Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 4. Other..?

    1. I voted "other" because I really don't have a material preference for eyes. I think that as long as I find eyes that work for my dolls and they look good, it doesn't matter what they were made of. I have one doll with acrylic eyes, one who has one glass eye and one steampunk eye, and then a third who has eyes that I don't even know what their made of.

    2. I voted "other" for urethane. :) I don't have any glass eyes to compare to so my preferences may change in the future, but I definitely prefer urethane eyes over silicone, acrylic, or resin.

    3. I have to agree with glass, it shines in a way the others don't, giving them a very realistic look. I like silicone, just for the way it feels when I handle it, but it's very hard to clean, it can attract dust like no ones business! Acrylic is ok, it's not very real looking though and can look a little dull. Having said that, 5 of my dolls do have acrylic eyes! (two have glass and one has silicone.) Acrylic is nice and cheap. ;)

    4. I like glass eyes the most though I do not mind trying out silicone and acrylic eyes.

I just like how the glass eyes reflect some light and it makes the dolls look much more expressive somehow. :chocoheart:chocoheart:chocoheart

    5. Silicone eyes! I love how they look and they squish to fill gaps. ~ the dust is annoying though.

    6. These answers are great! I know exactly what I will be buying for my dolls when I get some!

I'd have to say glass eyes just to avoid the dust problem but also the way glass shines giving it a more 'wet' look.

    7. Glass, high-quality handmade only. I don't buy cheap eyes; I can't stand the way they look. They look, well, cheap.

I've been upgrading everyone's eyes to Japanese-made glass eyes -- Zoukeimura, Silver, Hitomiya, a couple of newer dealers I've discovered lately.

    8. I very much like glass and silicone so far. The acrylics ive had experience with so far do no justice for me

    9. Not sure about silicone, but I've tried glass and acrylics, and would chose glass eyes again. They look more real and "alive".

    10. Glass, acrylic, silicone, etc, which is the best and why?

Do you prefer eyes that look natural or with crazy colours and irises?

    11. I prefer urethane for the amount of light it reflects, glass for the doll-like quality, acrylic for the wide range of colors and styles offered, silicone for its ability to squeeze into the weirdest, smallest, most annoying eyewells.

I prefer eyes that reflect my dolls' characters, to be honest, so if a doll is blind they're going to get blind eyes, if they're some sort of demon they might have unnatural colored eyes, if they're a regular person they get eyes on the "normal" end of the spectrum and so on...

TLDR; I love all materials, none is best and each has its own uses. As for the particulars I like best what fits my characters. x3;; I'm sorry if this answer is not helpful at all...

    12. From what I've played with and own, I like glass and silicone the most. Though for more specific silicone; I love Soom's double dome eyes, the way they work with the light and even made it look like the eyes track around as you move is really cool (though a pain cause they really mess with you when wanna see if they're a lined). As for glass I love how clear the colours are compared to any of the other eye types.

As for colour types, I'm a little more on the unnatural but not too crazy either. Like those simple gem eyes are pretty but I think the those eyes that have shiny stars, beads, etc. are too much for my tastes. But again it's all 'bout the sort of character I want to get with my dolls and what suits them.

    13. I'm choosing glass eye. because it looks so much natural and It's really looks realistic :)

    14. I like glass. Of course urethane eyes are so beautiful, but it will be yellowing after time...time....time.....:-( I dont like that... and glass eyes make to look more doll, not look like a human.

    15. I like silicone eyes from Safrin Doll. They look very realistic.

    16. I buy handmade glass eyes only.

    17. I love glass eyes and the beautiful craftsmanship that goes into them. Sadly, sometimes they don't catch the light right, or give a "dead fish" look, so it really depends. I do tend to go for glass when I buy eyes, though!

I own several acrylic eyes because that's the most common for animetic eyes styles! I do want to buy some urethane sometime to see what all the hullabaloo is all about ^_^

    18. I voted glass, but I truly love urethane eyes the best... just refuse to spend that much on eyeballs.

I can't do acrylic... The thing I love most about BJDs is how realistic they look, and it seems to detract from that realism to put acrylics in them. This is just my opinion. I like the pricetag on acrylic eyes, but I tend to shop for glass eyes overall.

    19. I keep getting back to acrylics, so I voted for that. I like the wide variety in colors and looks. I have tried glass before, but they don't seem to work for my dolls. Only two wear glass and one of those pairs are actually marbles

    20. I like the silicone eyes. On the dolls they look realistic
