I'm not sure how else to title this, so if anyone has a suggestion please let me know! I work as a connection center associate at the mart of wal (meaning I sell people cell phone and cell phone accessories) and when I'm trouble shooting and trying to help a customer we have conversations, and a couple different times we get on the subjects of dolls. So I've been informing people (mostly women lol) about our wonderful dolls and even giving out a couple links for them to check out, such as here at DOA, a couple Facebook groups and the links for MiroDoll and bobobie. One has even come back to tell me they ordered one! So yay for me
That's interesting! Since I love my dolls so much, I often tend to fall into the subject of dolls myself, and a couple of friends that didn't know of them prior but found out thanks to me have also ordered dolls of their own. Spreading the love for the hobby is always the best thing to do!
I've had it come up in conversation with customers and sales reps (i'm a buyer for an independent retailer). Usually we'll be talking about sewing or crafts and I'll find out they or someone in their family is into miniatures and other types of dolls, and I've given them info about BJDs and DoA, etc. I've also had BJD people come in looking for things for their dolls, small buttons, or tubular elastic. They are always so surprised to find that there are people at my shop that know what they are, let alone that three of us own BJDs. St.James and I were in a jewelry shop that retails local makers the other day and the fact that St.J makes tiny bjd jewelry came up. The lady helping us told us her family used to be in the cloth art doll business, so she totally got that people would want lovely little jewelry for their dolls if they also wore it themselves.
