All about the eyes!!

Oh boy! This is my kind o' thread. I collect urethane eyes almost as much as I collect ball-jointed dolls, themselves.

1) Which is your favorite brand?
Constantly changing but for now I'll say Silent Paradise.

2) What sizes of eyes you normally purchase?
12mm and 14mm are the sizes I purchase most often.

3) Which eyes' material you adore so much? Urethane? Glass?
Urethane. Hands down.

4) How many pairs of eyes you have collected so far?
Crap. Umm... I suppose I have about 35 pairs of urethane eyes from a variety of brands. Each doll has their own default pair and I hoard a few extras for a rainy day.

5) Dome height? High? Low?
No preference.

6) Your favourite eyes color?
My favorite color I currently own is a pair of DollBakery Rainbow eyes. Another favorite is a pair of green Serendipity eyes I've been hoarding for 6+ years because I have yet to find a doll "worthy" of them.

Overall, though, I'd say I tend to gravitate towards blue and/or green eyes.

 

I very much enjoy doll eyes~ ♥ It's amazing to see something so small make such a dramatic impact on the look of a doll.

1) Which is your favorite brand? Ersa Flora are gorgeous! But I must admit I've become quite addicted to Makoeyes.
2) What sizes of eyes you normally purchase? 10-14 mm are probably the ones I look out for the most.
3) Which eyes' material you adore so much? Urethane? Glass? I've got eyes of all types and honestly, I like them all. Never tried silicone though.
4) How many pairs of eyes you have collected so far? Off the top of my head, about 20 or so. Probably more.
5) Dome height? High? Low? Both. Some of my more realistic dolls need low dome, others need high dome.
6) Your favourite eyes color? Green! Forever and always.

I'm a pretty big fan of CandyKitten's eyes!

2) What sizes of eyes you normally purchase?
I like 14mm. I've tried 16mm, and it was very cute in my SD boys, but 14mm just suited them better.

My most favorite eyes are resin. I forget what kind.

Counting the eyes my boys came with, I have six pairs of eyes!

I have one pair of high-domed eyes that I do really like, but the CandyKitten ones are low-domed.

6) Your favourite eyes color?
My favorite ones are this very vivid blue-green from CandyKitten, called "Emperor's Chai". They're glorious!

No particular brand. I like all the eyes.

Glass. I like the depth and sparkle.

Too many!

Low dome, because they're easier to adjust.

Eyes are so much fun, I love them!

1) Which is your favorite brand? It's so hard to choose one favorite, but I think I'll go with Soom silicone. I also really like Captured In Glass and Eyeco.
2) What sizes of eyes you normally purchase? Depends on which doll I'm shopping for, but usually 12-14mm is good for the crew, with the occasional 16 or 10.
3) Which eyes' material you adore so much? Silicone is usually my favorite, but I also like some glass and I own one pair of urethanes that I really like. Not a fan of acrylic at all.
4) How many pairs of eyes you have collected so far? Currently, I probably own around 35 pairs, but I've been in the hobby for over 8 years, and in that time, I feel certain I've had at least 100 pairs, probably more when I consider all the dolls I've sold and all the default free eyes I didn't like.
5) Dome height? High? Low? Most of my dolls need low domes. High domes often don't fit right, or appear to be bulging out of the socket.
6) Your favourite eyes color? Green is my favorite, but most of my dolls have blue! Eight have blue , five have brown, two green, one hazel.

That would have to be Mako.

All sizes really, but the most probably 14-16mm

Urethane, but well-made glass eyes can be great and I have a pair of silicon that I adore too.

Ehm, about 85 maybe? All my dolls have a pair of course, and then I have a few extra to put in new arrivals. In my defense, a lot of them were cheap glass eBay purchases

Medium to low. I can never get high domes to look natural.
6) Your favourite eyes color?
Teal! And every shade of purple or lavender. My dolls tend to end up with al lot of blue-greens and purples, haha

 

I have a LOT of dolls--maybe 70+ if you included pets and such which still take eyes. And all sizes, from under 6mm to 20mm...

Oscar Eyes, Enchanted Doll eyes, Mako Eyes, Dollshe Eyes, cheap glass eyes, acrylic eyes... whatever works!

2) What sizes of eyes you normally purchase?
12 years ago, 16mm, but smaller and smaller as the years pass and I have more mature/realistic dolls, or micro-tinies, or pet dolls, etc. Currently, lots of 12mm or 10mm...
I just had to put 10mm in a 70cm guy!!! Crazy!

Urethane, then glass.

Hundreds of pairs of eyes

Years ago--high dome, but with eyes with smaller openings, low domes are better.

Purple, green, grey, bright blue, gold.

I LOVE eyes. They can really change a doll's look!

I used to get them to match outfits! But now I have too many dolls and outfits and am much more lazy, so I usually find eyes that suit well enough, size and color-wise, and keep them in a particular doll. --Even though I certainly COULD change eyes to match outfits since I have so many pairs of eyes, now.

1) Which is your favorite brand?
Mako Eyes. I also love AllThatGlittersEyes on etsy for when I want eyes that catch the light well in tinier sizes than Mako Eyes offers. Mako Eyes isn't the most realistic, but of the eyes I have bought, theirs catch the light the best. I think Eyeco is more realistic, but their silicone eyes don't catch the light that well. Even in my realistic-ish dolls, I like a little sparkle twinkle to their eyes.

2) What sizes of eyes you normally purchase?
12mm, most of my dolls need 10-12mm.

3) Which eyes' material you adore so much? Urethane? Glass?
Glass and Urethane at the moment.

Over 20? >_> I hoard and sell a lot.

Average? Sometimes low.

I own dolls ranging from tiny to SD+, so lots of sizes ranging from 8mm to 16mm. Mostly 12-14 mm though.
3) Which eyes' material you adore so much? Urethane? Glass?
Acrylic and hollow glass. Solid glass and urethane are too shiny for me.
4) How many pairs of eyes you have collected so far?
Thirty-odd pairs or so? Most are in dolls, though.
5) Dome height? High? Low?
Preferably just round! For the domed ones, high rather than low because low tend to fit into eyewells weird.
6) Your favourite eyes color?
Probably green and yellow, but I really love all colours. As long as there's no crystals in them, that trend is very much not for me.

Eyeco and Kaitou, I love realistic eyes! I have a pair of Mystic Eyes on its way and I think it would be amazing as well.

Mostly 12mm. and also 12/14mm with smaller iris.

Urethane and then soft glass.

I really like Oscar Doll eyes (although I don't own any)

Hard to say... probably 12-14 mm

I prefer glass because of the little handle thing, but I'll go for anything as long as I like the design.

11 (although I only have 3-6 dolls atm)

I guess high, but it doesn't really matter as long as they look good in the doll.

I've always loved blue, but pretty much every color is beautiful to me

 

This has been really a great help to read. I still struggle with eyes. I've only tried the acrylic that my doll came with (not pretty), and an acrylic pair from Safrin Doll (my favorite) and a pair of Eyeco Silicon ones (that just look cloudy and odd to me). I'm a little scared to spend more money trying out glass and whatnot after loving the inexpensive acrylics and not digging the more expensive silicon ones. A lot of the places, i hadn't heard of, so it's back to shopping and staring at eyes for me!
