ALL Infiniti Doll - SID13 girls: Daffodil, Miho, Reina, Isabella... etc

Aug 2, 2010

    1. Sephyelysian - I see. Thanks.
Thanks about the restinging advice ^_^
I will try the hot glue sueding since her legs are not overly floppy only a tab bit ^_^ I think I have a tutorial saved on how to do that and it looks really easy.

    2. snowgray, thank you for the tips. I may need to look into tightening her strings, because I still have a difficult time having her sit up straight. If that doesn't work, I'll need to look into the hot glue suede process more, as I haven't done that before.

sephyelysian, did you keep the sueding when you received her? Because that may be the key to her sitting well, if loosening the strings didn't have a detrimental effect. Hmm..

serenity, yep, the more I think about it and compare Violetta to Daffodil's default pictures, the more it seems that they DID draw the lips a few shades darker. Next time, if I request any face-up changes, I will be much more clear in what I want - with picture references, since what I imagine to be "a few shades darker" may not be what the artist envisions when I say that. The lip color outcome is probably the most disappointing thing to me because it is something I cannot easily fix without having the entire thing redone. I really love everything else about the face-up - it is so beautiful! Hopefully, getting her the dark blonde wig will make me at peace with the light lips :D

As far as changing out the legs, I still didn't do that because of the sitting issues. Since I cannot let her safely sit, she is lounging around until I get to work on her stringing. The high-heel feet work very well for lounging poses, so I left them on for now. Here's a picture of her lounging on the top shelf of my display unit with a new temp wig:

Amet, yep, I tried doing that. It does help a bit, but she still fell over backwards after a few minutes. I guess she slowly kept leaning backwards until she lost balance and fell.

Mystical Rose, it just means that the resin is a bit rougher to the touch - it's not silky smooth, and for that, she's definitely unique in my collection. I wonder how this type of resin will age - will it smooth out some with age and handling? My Delfs, for example, feel smoother to the touch now than when I first got them.

I am going to order the permanent wig (hopefully!) over the weekend and post more pictures when I have her look finalized :)

    3. Mystical Rose- I'm sorry I overlooked your earlier post. If you do attempt to make the dress Best of luck! I'll look forward to seeing how it turns out. : D

sephyelysian, Thanks for the tip regarding changing out the legs. For the moment I plan on keeping her in the heeled one as long as she arrives with them attached. If she's strung adequately I don't want to disturb her until she loosens up. So far I haven't had much luck restringing my dolls to my satisfaction,I never seem to get them tight enough.

Anna, When my Hue first arrived I had similiar issues with him falling backwards. I discovered by accident, if I grab him around the hips once he's seated and readjust his back he seems to lock into a position that makes it easier to sit.

I don't want to recommend doing this if the girls aren't designed in the same manner as the boys but I don't mind trying to see if it is possible on my Daffodil once she arrives.

Violetta looks very pretty as a brunette too. Can't wait to see her in the new wig once it arrives.

    4. Today I just finished paying off my Isabella!
In a couple weeks, I'll have her here to be shared with you all! So excited :D

    5. Anna: I left the glue sueding in. It helps with her movements but I'm not sure that would be enough to keep her sitting up. I think it's more the tension she's strung with or maybe she just sits up (like a couple of my Delfs who stand like rocks where the others want to have one leg curl underneath them. :P) Maybe experiment and see what you come up with? She looks pretty pleased just lounging at the moment.

Serenity: I totally understand. I think what helps me is that Amet and I tend to work together on these things and if we can't get it, we have another friend near us who's been stringing for years and I've yet to meet the doll she can't make do what she wants with the right stringing!

      Soap:
Congratulations! I am super excited for you and can't wait to see your girl when she arrives!

    6. Soap-That's wonderful news Congratulations! I'll look forward to seeing her.

sephyelysian-You are fortunate to have Amet's help and your other friend. I'll have to keep that in mind the next time I need to restring someone to ask for some assistance from either my daughter or husband. I think investing in some thicker string might also help.

    7. serenity, thanks for the tip! I will try that with Violetta tomorrow! I do like the brown wig on her as well - but, she borrowed it from my Custom House Choa, who is not too happy about lending it to her :D

Soap, I am very excited to see your Isabella! As I am sure I mentioned many times, she and Vivian are on my list, so it would be great to see owner pictures of her :)

sephyelysian, I do like her just lounging - I think she pulls off that pose rather well with her feminine high-heel feet! I didn't play with the stringing yet, but I will report back when I do.

I am very glad I ordered the slip because it shows off her figure very well. Everything else I have in her size is way too loose. I need to find some nice fitting clothes for her :)

    8. Soap - OOo I am so excited to see your owner pics of Isabella. She's on my wish last after Souldoll Madalyn and I really want to see what you do with her! Such a lovely sculpt...Congrats ^^

    9. Anna- Thanks ^_^
Violetta looks so relaxed just lounging there. I like her wig and look forward seeing the new one when you get it.

Serenity- no problem ~_^ Thanks XD

Soap-Congrads ^_^ I look forward to seeing pictures when you get her >^o^<

    10. Mystical Rose, Miyuki looks so serene and relaxed! I love her little pink dress :) I think the wig suits her well! Violetta's wig should be here any day now, so I'll be posting more pictures soon as well.

    11. Mystical Rose - Awh, the wig is very cute on her! I love your Daffodil.

    12. Mystical Rose, that wig is very becoming on her and she looks so cute in the dress.

    13. Anna-Thank You ^_^ I was super excited about that wig and could not wait to get it. I was exteremly pleased about it. I like my two Leeke wigs, but the two-toned one just looks so natural. I fell in love with that pink dress too <3 I look forward to seeing more of Violetta >^o^<

Soap- Thank You ^_^ I feel the same way about her too XD I am so glad I picked her as my first <3

Serenity- Thank You ^_^ I agree with you. It is funny as soon as I got her dressed and put the wig on her it was such a transformation compared to the way she looked before XD

    14. Hi all!

Violetta finally got her wig. I think it looks great on her; I just need to take a good picture  Here is one I just took right now, but it's already getting dark, so the lighting is bad. She's lounging with her partner Victoria - I didn't expect it, but the two girls bonded very well, and I think they look great together!

    15. Mystical Rose: She's looks great. I really think that hair suits her.

      Anna:
:D This amuses me greatly because Grace used to be a Lishe before I reshelled her as Daffodil. They look pretty fabulous together.

    16. Anna, I'm really happy to see Violetta with your Lishe and how well the girls look together. Sometime in the future, I'm planning to get a Lishe for myself and it's nice to see the comparison between them. BTW is she a tan skinned one or is she just that much darker?

I love the wig you selected for Violetta too. It looks very sophisticated on her and I like all the volume it has.

    17. sephyelysian - what a coincidence! I was actually planning to have my El, Victor, and Violetta be a couple, but when I saw her and Lishe (Victoria) together, I knew it was meant to be :D

serenity - I think you'll love Lishe! She's a gorgeous, classic sculpt that I am still in love with after so many years. She's actually normal skin, but, because she's so old (from early 2004), she has aged quite a bit. However, she looks more light tan than yellow, as you can see from the pictures. To be honest, I love her aged resin so much more than when I just got her. All my Luts girls from the 2003-2004 period have aged very gracefully. They looked sun-kissed :)

And, I am very happy with Violetta's wig. I'm glad that I went for shoulder-length hair, as it frames her face very well and emphasizes the beauty of her features.

    18. Anna: Lishe is a gorgeous girl and yours is certainly no exception! They look good together. I had thought about putting Grace with my Feeple Rona/Delf hybrid but -- they had other ideas. :P

I come bearing a picture since Amet had fun this weekend making an Infinity dress for Grace. I think she did an awesome job and it was fun (if somewhat daunting) watching her figure out the math. The shape of the dress definitely lends itself nicely to the Infinitidoll figure and for the most part it only took her an hour to make it.

Serenity, I think you were considering making the dress? If so, definitely give it a shot! It's so fun.

    19. sephyelysian, isn't it interesting how sometimes these dolls have a mind of their own? My plans of having Violetta with Victor (El) went right out the window when Victoria (Lishe) came into the picture  But, this is one of the many things that I love about BJDs - they have so much personality and are very satisfying dolls to own.

Amet did a great job on the Infiniti dress! I like the long skirt quite a bit on Grace. I need to stop being lazy and make one for Violetta, as she doesn't really have much to wear other than the slip set that I ordered for her.

By the way, what kind of wig does Grace have? The shape and style suits her very well!
