It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Am I mad (buying a lot of dolls in one go)

Sep 2, 2013

    1. Providing you save some for savings it sounds fine! I'd try and stagger them though then you could look forwerd to a new doll evry month! then again I'v only ever orders 1 doll so far (going to order my 2nd tomorrow!!) Don't forget a cabnit or such for all your lovelys! If thay arrive in a bunch dev make like a mega box opaning vid! (if u doo link to me I'd love to watch).

I personaly have yet to find my 'grail' doll I do love the 5Star Doll Darcke head and have been wanting it for a long time but he's onlty 65 dollers for the head so i don't count that lol. Congrats though! Pay down the house and buy dollys to fill it lol.

    2. I don't have the patience to wait for long. I'm a ridiculously impulsive and impatient person so waiting month after month would be torture for me. I also don't fall in love with dolls easily and these dolls I did so I know it's right. Only one did I not fall in love immediately but every time I look at pictures of her I like her more and more, she's got character up the wazoo.

    3. Go for it!

      I've done worse myself.

Currently I am waiting on 5 dolls that my step-daughter has purchased for me as she has come into some money (including a Dollmore Lusion and a Trinity). I also have 4 dolls and a head that I purchased that I am waiting on.

      Cackle away!!!

    4. Wow, I think that you're crazy lucky :D I'm not sure that I would buy that many all in one fell swoop as there aren't that many that I know I want but I would definitely buy two or three and a whole bunch of fabric and accessories! I hope your dolls are as perfect and beautiful irl as you want them to be :)

    5. I am going to buy so much fabric too, I already have lots but I need more and ribbons and lace and stuff.

    6. LOL you need to change the byline over your avatar now!

    7. I wouldn't have bought them all at once, but I totally understand! I personally would buy a couple and put the rest into savings so I could tap into it as i please, since BJDs are not my only expensive hobby >< I

    8. Haha yeah I don't get the money for another month, so at the moment I'm still broke and obsessed. :D

    9. I would totally get the ball rolling on the dolls you want, especially if they're rarer and harder to find so it may be a bit more time-consuming to hunt them down on the secondary market. I don't see anything wrong with purchasing them in one go if given the opportunity and it may prove to be exciting, I know has for me in the past when I've received more than one doll at a time, there was nothing "overwhelming" about it but every person is different. And if you're into giving your dolls storylines, you may find it easier to give them a harmonious connecting storyline/relationships if they all arrive within the same time frame. Congratulations to you and I hope you can obtain all of those dream dollies you want at your desired rate! :)

    10. I'd probably order them in pairs, myself, staggering the time between each pair enough that the dolls would be unlikely to come in less than a week or two apart. (Order one pair now, then another pair in two weeks, then the third two weeks after that-) That way you'd have some settling-in time with each pair before the next set arrived.

As for why I'd do that? Well, once upon a time I did end up with five who came in within a day or two of each other (I hadn't intended that. It just happened to work out that a singleton I'd been waiting on for months and a Limited open-eyed/sleeping duo I'd ordered more recently came in at the same time as a second OE/SS pair that I'd adopted from a friend... Ah, the randomness of doll companies and the PO. ), and to be honest, it was more stressful than fun trying to sort things out with that many new dolls at once. It wasn't until many months later that I started to feel any attachment towards them, or even like I'd actually gotten familiar with any of those five as individuals. That rocky start contributed, I suspect, to my ultimate decision not to keep two of them.

I've intentionally ordered pairs many times, and have never had trouble handling two new dolls at once... So, not all multiples are a scary prospect. But five at once? Never. Again.

It was just overwhelming, and that's not what hobbies we do for fun are supposed to be.

    11. I personally would split the money into savings for bad times, dolls and stuff for them.

While I always dreamt of receiving more than one doll at once, I really couldn't order that much dolls at once. Maybe two, maximum three.
I'd rather prefer getting less dolls but lots of additional wigs, eyes, shoes and of course clothes then a couple of naked dolls.
Not to mention that I usually need a bit of time to "finish" a doll, i.e. paint their face-up etc.; so getting a lot of them at once would also mean a lot more work arriving at my home at once :'D

I also usually need a bit of warm up time with a doll, and I guess that having to split my attention with three and more dolls would be rather stressful and hard to do. Getting so many of them might be a bit overwhelming.

    12. Whatever makes you happy in the short and long run. It's hard to say what I would do if I had the money to buy six dolls, because right now I'm not that much into buying a lot of dolls any more as I already have many. In the past I've dropped large amounts of money to buy two expensive dolls at once. Perhaps I'd be more inclined to spread out the fun of buying and receiving dolls and buy two dolls, wait a bit, buy two dolls, wait a bit and buy the last two. On the other hand, when would I be able to splurge like that? I might as well go for it if I would ever be in such a situation. ;)

    13. Well, I've been to simlar places... And the way I see it... are you going to have this kind of money again? I know I wont be where I am moneywise forever, so I'm happily just getting dolls here there and everywhere ^^ I understand what people say about being overwhelmed O.o I didn't plan it but just after xmas I had 3 dolls come home at once! And it was overwhelming and I dont feel I've bonded with 2 of them as much as the 3rd (adore them dont get me wrong, but they haven't been played with as much ^^) And again, didn't plan it ... but I expect I'm going to have 3 dolls arrive together again! thats 3 sets of customs that I'm not sure I can cover :< But I dream of buying 6 dolls at the same time xD what it must be like to open them all together! wow...
But... it's NOT crazy and its not stupid ^^ Buy buy buy :D hmmm or should that be buy buy buy buy buy buy?

    14. Personally, I wouldn't want that many at once. I don't bond as well if I don't get some time in between to enjoy them individually. I actually did order a few, several weeks or months apart, and three came in the same week. It seemed less special because of that. I'm also like some other people where if I get a very large chunk of money, I feel guilty spending it all and not using some for savings, house payments or things I actually NEED.

That being said, if I had 6 dolls I'd REALLY been wanting for a very long time, I didn't NEED the money elsewhere, and I already had a good amount of emergency money saved up.....I possibly would consider finishing my "want" list, staggering them so I could buy clothes too. I just don't think I've ever been longing for 6 dolls at once, so in my case, it would probably be a lot of impulse buying, which would just be bad for me. :P

    15. Well I am putting money away in savings and clearing some personal debts so I won't be spending it all at once. I just think it's going to be like Christmas came early for me.

    16. I think I'm with those who are saying to go for it, but stagger the arrivals a bit. I've only ever received two at a time, which seems to be enough... I'll be getting three at once later this year/early next year, and that already feels like a huge number! (Luckily, they're a size I already own, so I can get things for them ahead of time.) I'm less concerned about the bonding issue (for myself and for you), though, and more just thinking of how much fun it would be for you to draw out the joy of receiving your wishlist a little at a time. It could be a whole year of Birthdays or Holidays, by spacing it out a bit! :D

    17. I'd say you are incredibly lucky! I don't think many people could order so many at one time!
I think if I were ever in a position to order a lot of dolls at once, I would take it. I may be a little overwhelmed by all of them arriving at the same time, but how many chances do you get to have more than three dolls come home like that?? And you'd still have plenty of time to prepare for their arrival. The anticipation for so many dollie things at once would be amazing! Happy doll searching and I hope you love them all!
