1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angel Region Little Fair Discussion part 1

Jan 11, 2005

    1. Seeing the other (completely unrelated :D) thread about Angelregion hands reminded me of this. I searched, but couldn't find any similar problems, soooo...

My Present Ren came with a set of LF open-finger hands (which they call "Free Hands" for some odd reason; http://angelsupply.co.kr/eshop/display/home.php?mode=subdetail&num=858). I've had him for almost a year now, and I've had one of these hands on since a little while after I got him. The weird thing is, I noticed about a month ago that it's starting to bend at the wrist joint. At the top where it connects to the ball for the wrist, the resin is actually bending up. Oo; It's not broken yet, though I'm pretty sure it's going to get there at some point if it keeps going.

I asked about it on the AR Q&A board and the only response I got was "A lot of people have problems with hands breaking, limited dolls have a 1-year warranty where you can get new hands for $10." While this makes me feel better, it doesn't give me any answers.

So, my question is, has anybody else had a problem with Angelregion hands bending? And what did you do about it if you did?

EDIT: Reference images added in reply.

    2. HA! I KNEW you were talking about the open-finger hands! XD Those things are MASSIVE... they're nearly wider than they are long. :D

I have a DoC, and I tried the option hands... they fit, though they have to be strung differently than normal AR hands. They're about the same size as the AR hands though, only with fatter fingers, so I don't think that's of much help (they are the old DoC hands, for reference... the ones with awful barely-there wrists). I unfortunately can't judge resin comparison with normal AR dolls, since my AR boy is white skin. The DoC resin isn't too horrible, but it's quite a bit yellower than AR white resin. Sorry I can't compare it with normal. ^^

Also, the open-finger hands are about the same size palmwise as the standard LF hands, but the way the fingers are placed makes them look a lot wider. I *HATE* the standard hands, though, so...

    3. You can get 'free' hands, 'rock' hands, and 'gun' hands for AR LF from the 'parts' section of their website. I think they look normal. They don't look wide..

    4. Heh, no they're not, I meant where they attach AT the ball. Maybe I should've clarified. :)

    5. Pictures for reference:

I had to adjust the contrast a bit so you can see what I'm talking about. I also pointed out the bent place with handy red arrows. ^^

    6. i have to pair of littlefair hands, and both are fine. it seems like a really odd place for the hands to bend also. the wirst area would be the last place i would think could be harmed, on the hands. so you think eventually that bit will break off?

    7. To everyone who replied: Thanks for the input. The way they're bending, it seems that if they keep doing it they'll just snap entirely. They're not bent when the hand is at one angle, but if it's in most any direction other than that one spot the resin bends up like it is in the picture. Since they're under pretty much constant stress, I can't see them staying intact for long.

AR said they have a 1-year warranty on limited dolls, but that's about to run out for Present Rens. Anyone who's had experience with ordering replacement parts from them, can you get a replacement for an issue like this, or do they want the part in question to be seriosly damaged? Also, do they require you to send the messed-up part to them? I asked on their Q&A board, but got no reply.

      Muchas gracias in advance. ^^

    8. I have a Jade on the way and was curious. Since he was available for only a short time is he considered limited? And is he numbered in any way?

Also is the only difference between version 1 and 2 the makeup, outfit and wig? The mold is the same, right?

      Thanks!!

    9. AR Jade 01 & 02 are limited, as they can no longer be purchased from the company. There is a standard Jade either already released, or in the making, I'm not sure which.

01 & 02 are the same sculpt, just different hair/eyes/make-up/clothes.

    10. Yes, Jade ver. 1 is considered limited and not available at Angelregion anymore. His resin tone is Crystal Rose White and not the Normal resin. Each of the versions, 1 and 2, has unique makeup did just for each version (also came with different outfits and wigs). He is not numbered in anyway on him but he might have came with a little card in his box that said what he is and his birthday as well as the owner's name (My limited tanning ren came with such a card). Angelregion says they will not be doing that type of makeup ever again for them. It was limited. Until recently the Jade mold was only available through limited releases. Now they are making a basic model of him in normal resin (and her; the girl version is called Mano).

    11. I hope they're standards. I've wanted a Jade for a long while! *squeal*

    12. mano reminds me of ami.. scary

    13. I think they are standard... Which is great, since I know a lot of people are big fans of that headmold.

    14. Mano is actually a female jade. Im not sure if she's had minor changes but Mano is definately a girl jade, not ami.

I spoke to Angel Region about it last month, enquiring about whether Jade was going to be released as a basic kit. So yep, they are standards :) and im assuming they come with the white outfit, wig etc n_n *cant wait*!

    15. really but whenever i see her she looks so alike... lol maybe its juz me :D

    16. Oooohhh! Hmm... Might have to get a Jade decently soon. ^______^

    17. GRRRR...my post got deleted in the other thread...the QUESTION that i asked was...I wonder if these will be the Jade and Mano dolls we will get for the anniversary presents?

    18. That's what I'm wondering. My guess would be probably yes.

    19. Eee.. I can't wait for my Jade... he's going to be my first dollfie and I'm an anxious first timer... ><

    20. aw cute!!!
I need to have mano to go with my Present Jade!
When are they going to sell them separated? I just hope it will be possible for me to get one!
