Anyone seen the 2 new Mini's they just released?

I LOVE Dina and have ordered her. I'm just waiting for Angell Studio to calculate the shipping so I can pay. Anyone know how long that takes?

 

I have seen them and they are awesome! Great that you ordered her, I'm so curious what she'll look like so do show us pics when she arrives! AS usually sends the invoice with shipping costs the next working day, so I guess you can expect it on Monday!

 

OMG, I love Dina too! I want to buy her outfit too, is that even an option?

I'm interested in ordering directly from Angell-Studio but their system really confuses me. To get Dina's gorgeous default face up, do I just add MV41A031 to my cart? What is the difference between the "Senior" body and the "New 1/4 Female Double-Jointed Body"?

 

Normally AS puts a list of related stuff to purchase in the order screen for the doll it pertains to. That way you can add the face-up, body blushing, eyes, wig, outfit, shoes and such. Apparently they haven't done that for Dina, so maybe they will next week? I guess the best thing to do is send a message to their rep George to ask if you can order her with the face-up and outfit and how much that will amount to. It would very much surprise me if the face-up and outfit weren't available since normally they are, although the outfit might be limited. The face-up you mention seems different from Dina's and they usually have a specific face-up for each dolly. Good luck, it's so exciting to see Dina instantly this popular. I want one myself, but with four incoming dollies that need stuff, I won't be able to afford her for a while to come. So I'll have to live off of you guys' pictures until I can...

Eta: the senior body is the double jointed body

 

I actually really want a Dina and if I can I am going to be really bad and buy her. I just think she is so pretty and ticks a lot of boxes what I look for in a doll. I am so happy you can get her in tan skin too because of a character concept I have for the doll.

I also only like mature MSDs and it looks like Dina comes with that body. She is a tiny bit chunkier then all the current dolls I currently own, but not by much. So a lot of my clothes should fit her.

I am a bit confused though, she is listed under fullset? does this mean she comes with the dress, wig and face-up? Since there are only options to change the skin tone?

 

Usually the dolls under fullset will come with everything only if you order them with everything, see my post above. So I'm a bit confused on this one too, but the price will surely not include the lot...

 

I keep checking my AS account just in case they updated the order xD. I just wanna pay so it's done.

 

It is why I asked actually, I am very confused about it? I am willing to pay that price for the blank doll, it is the blank doll I want. I also plan a different wig and face-up it is only the dress that I would want out of the full set any way. I was just really confused since they didn't have the drop down options like other dolls I have ordered. I am not really sure why they would add them later? I have just not seen that before.

Do AS send out invoices after you order then?

 

I really love the new Dina sculpt. Like everyone else though I'm confused by their ordering system.

 

I think so, I THINK there was something at some point during the order that suggested that AS would need to calculate shipping. I struggled to understand the English though, as it is not their first language. I sent them a very simply but polite worded message asking about the next step. It's the weekend though so, likely wont hear anything until Monday-Tuesday.

 

I can confirm that Angell-Studio will send you an invoice after you submit your order, because the website does not calculate shipping. Personally I think it would be easier to just e-mail them your order, and I'm pretty sure they allow that. Even with the event discounts, it would be cheaper to order from Mint on Card. So in addition to sending a message to AS, I went ahead and sent an e-mail to MoC asking if I could purchase a fullset Dina. I sent both on Saturday so of course I have to wait until at least Monday for a response from either.

Edit: AS responded! They said they will be putting in the options for the fullset items in a few days. I can't wait! Now I just have to decide between Pink and Sun-Tanned skin...

 

I do admit I am confused by their English, it certainly isn't the best I have come across. I have worked with people with poor English before, it just can sometimes take a little longer. I actually contacted them via Deviant art because a while ago they offered me a discount on their dolls because they really liked a picture I and my rant about how Chinese dolls are just as good as any other BJD and that I have seen a lot of Chinese companies always try and improve their dolls. So I am trying to see if that offer still stands, because it was a pretty good offer.

I think it would be more expensive from Mint on Card for me since I live in the UK and would still have to pay higher shipping. Thank you so much for confirming how they do that though. Fairyland used to work a little like that, but you did know the shipping cost, they changed it so you could pay right away though.

It is cool they confirmed that they would be adding more options soon though! I am probably going to end up with just the base doll because I have a very set idea what I am going to do with the doll.

I also have a couple of questions:

I was reading earlier that AS use French resin and to be honest I have a little bit of a worry about that because of the translucent look it has. I was also reading about you can ask for "solid" resin. Is that still French resin or is that urethane resin like most other BJDs?

On Dina description it says that the blank doll has "head+ears" does that mean that she is a type of doll that you can change the ears, or are they moulded to the head? Because that is a bit confusing. I know that Dina has elf ears as a sculpt I asked AS on DA since you couldn't see her ears because of her wig.

karla-chan, i don't think their dolls have changeable ears...

 

All of AS's resin is French resin, both the solid and the translucent. But the solid looks more like the urethane resin and in my experience yellows a bit more slowly.

They always say head+ears on their sales pages and all my five AS dolls have the ears as part of the sculpt, so not detachable or anything

 

I asked AS two more questions. Dina wears size 16mm eyes. Event #4, where you get a 15% discount when you reach at least $500, does not include the PayPal fee or shipping cost. I can understand the shipping cost, but the PayPal fee is really unfair, and they shouldn't be charging that in the first place. Considering that the shipping alone for me is $60, I'm really hoping I can get her through MoC before they put in their order to AS on the 29th. I hope they will be participating in the events, I know they don't for some things.

karla-chan, I'm hoping that Dina has elf ears too. You can make out what appears to be the tips of the elf ears in the photo of her from the back, but I'm glad you asked. I plan on having her wear Amy's wig so if she does have them they will show through better.

UPDATE: The outfit and accessories are now available!! I have everything in my cart and ready go, but I need to see if MoC will be participating in that event before I order through AS...

 

That is good, I prefer them to be part of the head. I really want to get Dina and I know what I am doing with her and everything. I am happy that the $300 event means the shipping cost is low too.

Oh thanks for the information, that is useful to know. I would want the solid resin rather then the translucent resin, if it looks like urethane resin I will risk the resin a little more. Since dolls even on the cheap end are a big spend they are something you have to think about it, and if you can I stick to what I know. I have a good meet up group that have many dolls, but none of us have a doll with French resin. Dina is pretty enough to go for even if she is French resin though.

I think it is wrong that they charge PP fee's on top, technically they shouldn't be doing that because it is against Paypal's ToS and also when dealing with UK customers it is also against the law.

I asked about the elf ears just to be clear what she was like. I do wish that companies would take one picture of the doll without a wig so you can see it a lot better. I can see why you would have the glamour pictures because they are nicer to look at. However just one with just the head would be great.

Thanks for all the other information it is useful to know. I was going to ask about eye and wig size, but now it is all good about the eyes. I can start looking.

 

Their ordering system is really confusing actually and I am not sure how to contact them about it. The E-mail I tried bounced back. I registered with my contact E-mail rather then my Paypal E-mail (which I have done for other companies just fine) so I am kind of lost.

I have tried to send the order through though... ^^;

 

Anyone who plans on purchasing Dina with her outfit: they accidentally put the option for Lina's outfit on her page. So make sure you navigate to the actual outfit and add it to your cart from there.

 

I'm sure it will work out, but just out of curiosity, to which address did you e-mail them?
